The Wall 1 year, 8 months agoWe’re pleased to report on a recent event we sponsored, the demo ‘Paint Along’ Masterclass, held in collaboration with Jarrolds of Norwich on Thursday, July 25. The event saw attendance from 50 guests, each paying £45, for an evening that combined an art demonstration by Claire Francis Swift with the use of Winsor & Newton products.
The materials needed for the session, including Galeria paint, pads, and brushes, were provided free of charge for the event by Colart. Claire guided participants through the process of creating an acrylic painting of a scene from Norfolk, catering to a wide range of skill levels from beginners to more experienced artists.
Jarrolds have added a blog post to their website providing details about the event and highlighting Colart’s contribution (see image below)
This collaborative effort with Jarrolds serves as a reflection of our ongoing support for artistic engagement within the community.

The Wall 1 year, 8 months agoLast week I ran a special watercolour painting class with the finance team, organized with the help of @meganpontier and we were also joined by @ericvillanueva
This was a great group and it was fun to share watercolour techniques but also the importance of putting down our devices and taking the time to really see the world around us in our daily lives. It was a pleasure for me to spend some time with the finance team but they still won’t switch gears and allow me to do any accounting. 🙂

wow… that is a long time! Thank you Patrick for all your contributions and enjoy a well deserved retirement!…

The Wall 1 year, 8 months agoHello all!
I am pleased to announce that DC4 North America successfully conducted our first Extremely Hazardous Substance (EHS) release drill on Wednesday, July 24th.
The drill simulated a scenario in which multiple pallets of spray paint (aerosols) were damaged, resulting in the release of toxic vapors/fumes within our aerosols cage. This necessitated an immediate evacuation of the building while avoiding the contaminated area. I am proud to report that the evacuation was completed in just over five minutes, and the entire drill was concluded in under ten minutes. This is a commendable achievement for our first drill, and we aim to improve our response time in future exercises!
I extend my sincere gratitude to all participants for their dedication and commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of our site.

good news and well done to all. We all hope situations like these will never happen, but it is better to be prepared for them anyway. I hope the participants found it a useful drill too.

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."

Well done in supporting the event with Winsor & Newton products. This is a great activation with excellent attendance. The space that Jarold’s used to run this event was perfect.

I agree Guy, it’s great to see activation and consumer connection like this!…
David, great activation, and the final paintings look fantastic – well done.…
Really cool to see so many people coming together and get their art on!
We should do a guiness book record challenge 🙂

Fantastic activation by a long term customer and Colart supporter, all delivered through you enthusiasm and relentless pursuit of consumer engagement. Great work David, although it was ‘only a little product’, it was all the other support throughout the year that you, Guy, Viktoria and the team put in that make these things possible. …
Great to see David! Jarrolds…..that takes me back a bit!…
Hi David, congratulations and well done for your strong relationship building that has culminated in this support for what appears to have been a well attended and successful event connecting the consumer with Winsor & Newton. Great work and well done. Best, Anthony…
