The Wall 1 year, 8 months agoAn exciting day for us in Kidderminster as the solar panel installation begins here at the UK DC. The installers particularly wanted to recognise the help from Dave Hodgkins, our site maintenance team member, for his support and help getting safely set up and prepared to begin the works. We can’t wait to see how they get on. A double whammy for us as Liza Kindon spotted they were discarding a load of carboard, which we asked them to remove from their skip so we could recycle for packaging material using our onsite shredder.

The Wall 1 year, 8 months agoDuring the recent weekend at Le Mans, two new Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) were successfully implemented in the server room. The technological framework in Le Mans necessitated a full shutdown for the installation. Congratulations and thank you to the Maintenance and Technical Operations Teams for their collaborative efforts that ensured the installation went seamlessly with no major issues. Below is a photograph of the two new UPSs.
Also a photograph of the M3 estate and VMware vSAN servers. The M3 estate’s hardware upgrade was also recently finalised.

what is the purpose of the UPS, e.g. what do they do that we didn’t have before?
Will we need this at all sites or is this le Mans only?
Looks really impressive!… -
Great job done by IT team ! no major impact on the monday when re-starting all machines in the plant despite the general switch off.
A very critical event every time … a great success.… -

The Wall 1 year, 8 months agoMr Luo from Yanjun, one of the leading e-commerce customers in China was on a family trip in Europe this week. They decided to change their travel arrangements to come see our factory in Le Mans, our first ever Chinese customer visiting the factory (or at least that anyone can remember). They were very impressed, obviously by the very professional tour we received from @Thierry Collot, but also by the sheer size of our plant, the level of automation, the number of SKU we manufacture and carry… all in all a high quality visit.
It is a first step on our continuous development of our business in China and hopefully with many more visits to follow.

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."

Nice finally here 😊…
A very exciting day after much effort to make it happen – well done!
And, love your keen eye for minimising waste 🙌…
Hi Shane and team plus Sarwar, super exciting to see the Solar panels finally arrive. This has been a long process but one worth waiting for. Dave thank you for your help in the set up and Liza for identifying some “food” for our hungry shredder. Well done all. Best, Anthony…
This is super exciting! Great to see perseverance pay off! …
Exciting news! Is this still economically viable though?
I have had them on my roof since 2019, but since 2024, providers are charging you money for delivering energy to the grid, so basically you give them electricity for free. How is that in the UK?…
Hi Jasper. We’re selling it back to the grid. the best deal for us is to sell it to our current provider and they will credit us against our remaining bill. The panels will provide 42% of our energy and the rest will be sold back.…
A wonderful initiative that to me ‘just makes sense’, and something that will help us on our journey supporting the environment and our aims. …
