The Wall 1 year, 9 months agoIt has been a busy term working with art schools and retailers in the UK. This past month we have been delivering oil training for Hobbycraft and the greys across all of our brands and segued into the new watercolours, for Cass store staff across the UK. We had the pleasure of meeting the new CCO from Cass, Benjamin Recap who showed great interest in how we communicate and really connect with artists and students here in the UK. It was good to show him the activities and engagement through materials research, workshops, bursaries and symposiums and most recently the Liquitex Slade Big Walls with the Slade MA students as a result of the donation of old label materials. An opportunity for many, that would otherwise be prohibitive through cost. This ignited and fuelled beautiful and imaginative responses following the trajectory created with UAL CSM BWW. For those of you who would like to see the artists and designers of the future from students from all over the world, the degree shows are on now.

A super busy, creative and exciting time!
The meeting with Benjamin from Cass was fantastic and I know he found the session with you and with Mark Cann super exciting and interesting.
Thanks for supporting our retailers, it is fundamental to our relationships and how we nurture the education of the store staff.
Thanks again Steph.…

The Wall 1 year, 9 months agoYesterday in the NA office we had our second Brand Engagement event of the year – a Liquitex activation for all in the NA office and DC to get more connected to the Just Imagine campaign and the range of Liquitex products. Dallas from Merle Works hosted Just Imagine: A Liquitex Color Story Workshop where we invited all to ‘Imagine and Create with Liquitex’. Each of us created a keepsake tea towel with colors of our choice. Participants studied different colors in a range of the rainbow and picked colors that resonated with them to create their own color story. We had more than 50 participants expressing incredible creativity!

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
