Happy to share the enclosed TV report which aired this Sunday noon on TF1 (1st TV braodcast in France) on mid-day news.

It attracts every Sunday nearly 6 million viewers.

We filmed in the factory (lab, factory,..) and in Guy Brunet artist’s workshop, most famous local oil painting artist (using LB)

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, TF1 brought out long elements of this report to produce a well-constructed document and broadcast it

It’s a great source of pride to see our company, our brand(s), our know-how, and our passion highlighted in a mass audience media.

We deserve it, all together, through our commitment and our determination to perpetuate this fabulous history which began more than 3 centuries ago.

Celebrating World Health & Safety at Work Day: A Reflection on Colart Americas’ Commitment to SafetyIntroduction

At Colart Americas, we take the well-being of our employees seriously. On April 10th, we celebrated World Health & Safety at Work Day with enthusiasm and purpose. Our goal was to recognize the collective efforts of our team in maintaining a safe work environment for 330 consecutive days. This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to safety, and we wanted to commemorate it in a meaningful way.

    The Four Pillars of Safety

During our celebration, we engaged in a thoughtful discussion about the four pillars of safety that guide our practices:

    1. Safety as a Law: Compliance with legal regulations is non-negotiable. We adhere to local, state, and federal safety laws to protect our employees and ensure a secure workplace.
    2. Safety as a Rule: Beyond legal requirements, we establish internal safety rules and protocols. These guidelines serve as the foundation for our daily operations.
    3. Safety as a Priority: Safety is not an afterthought; it’s our top priority. We invest in training, equipment, and continuous improvement to maintain a safe environment.
    4. Safety as a Value : Safety is ingrained in our culture. It’s not just a checkbox; it’s sentiment that influences every decision we make.

    Gathering Insights: The Survey

To gain deeper insights into our team’s perception of safety, we distributed a bilingual survey (available in both English and Spanish) to our dedicated DC workers. We asked them to reflect on the four pillars and share their thoughts:

    1. What do these safety pillars mean to you personally?
    2. What are the most significant health and safety risks in your specific work areas?
    3. How can we collectively enhance safety where you are stationed?

The responses were candid, heartfelt, and eye-opening. Our team members expressed their commitment to safety, emphasizing the need for vigilance and collaboration.

Unveiling Common Themes: The Word Bubble

After collecting the survey results, I meticulously analyzed the data. To visually represent our shared safety aspirations, I created a word bubble. The most frequently used words and phrases emerged prominently, reinforcing our common goals:

        1. Safety (11 times): Participants consistently emphasized safety, indicating its paramount                    importance. This suggests a strong commitment to preventing accidents and maintaining a                secure environment.

    1. Attention, Respect, Efficiently (6 times each): These words highlight a focus on mindfulness, adherence to rules, and effective execution. Attention ensures vigilance, respect fosters cooperation, and efficiency optimizes safety protocols.
    2. Priority (5 times): Safety is a top priority, reinforcing its significance in decision-making and daily operations.
    3. Risk, Slip-falls, Improve (5 times each): Mitigating risks, preventing slip-falls, and continuous improvement are recurring themes. Participants recognize the need for proactive measures.

    and the list went on.

The word bubble served as a powerful reminder that we all desire the same outcome: to feel secure and supported while contributing to our organization’s success.

    Amplifying Voices: Suggestion Boxes

To ensure every voice is heard, we took practical steps. At the entrances to our DC, we installed physical suggestion boxes. Employees can drop in their safety-related ideas, concerns, or suggestions anonymously. Additionally, we introduced a digital suggestion box accessible via a QR code. This technology-driven approach allows for real-time feedback and encourages transparency.

    Conclusion

Our World Health & Safety at Work Day celebration was more than just a catered lunch—it was a reaffirmation of our commitment to safety. As we move forward, we remain dedicated to fostering a culture where everyone actively contributes to a secure and thriving workplace. Together, we build a safer tomorrow, one day at a time!
