Every 28th April marks the World Day for Safety and Health at Work . The theme for 2024 set by the International Labour Organization is – exploring the impacts of climate change on occupational safety and health.  As this falls on a Sunday,  we are celebrating this significant day today!

Every Colart site will celebrate World Day for Safety and Health in their own way.  Keep your eyes peeled on The Wall today for posts and updates on other sites activities.

    Hello everyone,

today at Crown Artist Brush we celebrated H&S day with the “Spot the Hazard” quiz.

Everyone really enjoy it, with positive feedback.

This quiz encouraged employees to think a little more about hazards, and they will now actively try to spot hazards on the site.

Well done everyone and thank you for participation in the quiz!!!

    Hello everyone,

I would like to share a short story and badge about the Lowestoft Brush factory, written by Sapphire-Elysia little school girl, who is a Brownie. She is aware of our brush factory through her great-grandmother, who worked at the brush factory many years ago.

Join us for Day 3 of our four-day workplace safety fiesta! We’re bringing the good vibes to those health and safety routines, with prizes that’ll make you want to do a victory dance. So, let’s kick off this adventure with a bang and make safety as fun as a puppy in a ball pit!  Here’s to Day 3.

Stuart, the marketing maverick, is on a mission to impress his client

…. but is he tripping over his own ambition and causing an avalanche of chaos in the process?

How should Stuart keep his marketing mojo alive without risking a slapstick disaster?

To enter the competition, comment below with your answer!

(Note:  the competition is open to London Hub people only, however we are sharing on The Wall so everyone learns about Health and Safety)

    • Franceska awesome as always

    • Franceska awesome as always

    • Stuart is carrying too much, he should employ the help of some of the other Hub goers who I am sure would assist him.
The boxes are obstructing his sight, he is straining his back and worst of all…. he appears to be leaking, something he should contact his GP about right away!!!

Whilst he is trying to save time it shouldn’t come at the expense of his or others safety.

    • Hazard 1: Carrying to many boxes,Hazard 2: Sweating excessively he could slipHazard 3: Knocking products off the wallHazard: Damage back

      Handling and moving training essentail

    • Stuart what are you doing! A refresher in manual handling training is needed. First, he should push the boxes slightly with his foot (no open toe shoes!) to check how heavy the boxes in case he needs equipment to move them. While picking the boxes up he should bend with his knees and keep good posture with his feet slightly wider than his shoulder width. He shouldn’t be carrying anything over his chest height to obscure his vision, and keep the boxes close to his body while walking. I hope Stuart can recover from these heavy Colart boxes!
