Great to see the digital screens in Piscataway being put to good use (in the office and DC) – rotating features include health & safety, sustainability and monthly performance trackers – and in English and Spanish. Well done all involved including Eric, Carlos and Torkel

    • YES!!! Great to see these screens in place especially the inclusive element through the translation.
A very big well done to the team: Tork, Eric and Carlos

Last Friday, we hosted Cass Art at our London Hub for a Liquitex Bio-Based immersion session. As the first UK retailer listing Bio-Based it was vital for founder Mark Cass and his marketing, retail and buying teams to understand the product and what makes it so important, so they could effectively present and sell it.

During the session we presented a Liquitex Bio-based deck, held a brief Q&A, showed the Bio-Based trade video, and had Artist Juan Bolivar deliver a captivating interactive demonstration of the products. Enthused and educated, the Cass Art team got hands-on with Bio-Based to wrap up the day.

A huge thank you to everybody from the UK Commercial & Marketing teams involved in making the session a success, laying the groundwork for a successful UK launch to come!

    • Well done to you Eden and to all the UK team, it looks great! Juan is always very good to deliver Liquitex messages and demonstrate our products.

    • Great work Eden! You played a really important part in making this such a successful session. It was on brand and Cass is now even more onboard with Bio-Based! Due to how well this went we’ll be bringing Juan back for more.

    • What an amazing combo Eden , you and Juan are a force. The incredibly detailed preparation and informed insight into the category, really brings to life the relevance and credibility of this medium and its wider context. Well done!

    • Big shout out to Eden, Emma, Francheska, Martyn, the wider UK team and Juan in making this happen. Great levels of organisation, planning and quality execution were clearly visible. Mark and the Cass team were super impressed. A very solid start to the launch of this very exciting NPD in the UK. Best, Anthony.

    • Well done all, this sounds like a very successful and well thought out event

    • A fantastic session, well organised and exceptionally well run. Great work by all hear, especially Francheska and Eden in pulling it all together.
We have received fantastic feedback from the whole Cass team on how much they enjoyed it. It was educational, informative and fun! Sessions like these are key for such retailers, giving them a immersive experience into the brand and our NPD. Great thing is, we will also get their full support on this.

    • love this UK team – thank you for the energy and enthusiasm you are showing for this exciting launch.

    • I was in a meeting room opposite this session and I could definitely feel the “energy and engagement” coming out of the room. It looked extremely well organised 🙌

Join us for Day 3 of our four-day workplace safety fiesta! We’re bringing the good vibes to those health and safety routines, with prizes that’ll make you want to do a victory dance (Head office participants only but eeveryone is free to join in!) . So, let’s kick off this adventure with a bang and make safety as fun as a puppy in a ball pit!  Here’s to Day 3.

Meet our Health and Safety Officer, Alex, the hero of ergonomic excellence! Or so we thought…In today’s wacky challenge, we’ve snapped a pic of Alex in action, supposedly championing health and safety. But wait! Something’s amiss, and it’s up to you sharp-eyed folks to spot the blunder! Now, we won’t spill the beans just yet, but let’s just say Alex’s posture is giving us spine-tingling shivers!

What is wrong with this and what should Alex be doing to “practice what he preaches”?

To enter the competition, comment below with your answer!

    • There are a few things here that could be improved to help Alex!
Alex could adjust his chair so that he is closer to the desk and at the right height so his feet are flat on the floor and his back is straight and upright (instead of leaning forwards).
Alex could position his computer monitors better so that they are at his eye level and his keyboard so that it’s only an arm length away.
If he does this then Alex should be able to sit with a good posture and have a lovely day at work 🙂

    • First of all, Alex needs to urgently re-do a full work-station risk assessment because if he’s looking like this on his chair, then he may be doing other things that are hazardous, unsafe and affecting his health! For now, with immediate action, Alex needs to ensure he follows guidelines on ensuring his chair back and arms are adjusted correctly, wheels secured, eyes are at level with the computer screen, and his keyboard and mouse are positioned correctly.

    • Back bad, chair bad , eye level bad, neck pain bad, feet position bad, posture bad, screen distance bad. (pointing out the faults is fun)
Mr Alex will need to read the company’s H&S policy regarding desk chair and screen setup.

    • I wonder if Alex completed his DSE training 🙄

    • Oh Alex Ou, the things you don’t know! Looks like Alex wants us to do as he says not as he does – his forearms should be parallel with the desk, he should adjust his chair so that his feet are flat on the floor. His laptop screen should be at eye-level and if he intends to use the monitor as well, he should position it directly in front of him not over to the left. His back is also unsupported and he has bad posture!

Wanted dead or alive: the stealthy daredevil spotted at our very own London Hub!

But wait, it’s not your typical burglar, it’s our very own Jane on an adventure to reach the unreachable!

What is our runaway Jane doing wrong that might put her behind bars?   And, what should she be doing instead?

To enter the competition, comment below with your answer!

(Note:  the competition is open to London Hub people only,  however we are sharing on The Wall so everyone learns about Health and Safety)

    • Standing on a chair is very dangerous and she could easily fall over. Unless there was a tall person available like myself, it would be better to use a safety ladder to reach high objects, ideally with someone supervising to support the ladder. Preferably you would ask someone from huckletree to do this as likely they will be insured for this kind of stuff, and trained to work at heights safely.

    • So funny! This is about manual handling and lifting boxes at shoulder height. Jane should get someone to pass the boxes to and use a ladder or a chair without wheels to reach the boxes.

    • Runaway Jane is standing on a chair that has wheels and an uneven surface – danger! Working at height in an office environment should be avoided but if required, for short-duration and low-risk tasks, Jane should instead find a health & safety approved step/ladder to reach her coveted prize.

    • I am loving these H&S photos! But, why do you have to do this Jane!!?
Manual handling– we all know she’s strong but Jane will need someone from on the ground to take the boxes from her high reach. Also the chairs with wheels is a BIG no and should be avoided instead use a ladder.

    • Runaway Jane feels suitably corrected for her terrible unsafe practices!
      Keep the advice coming 👌

    • Oh no. Runaway Jane is risking it all for the brands she loves and needs to re-do her manual handling course. She doesn’t look very sure footed standing on that uneven surface, and even worse its on wheels! But even standing on the chair she still can’t reach the box so won’t be able to grip it firmly and it looks like she might also have to twist during the lift. Runaway jane might end up pain! She should use the proper equipment, including a ladder, and plan her lift.

Last week our Joint Venture in Japan, Bonny Colart, welcomed Stefan Leitz, Global CEO of Faber Castell to Japan. As you may know from April 1st we started distributing the Faber Castell Red Line and General Writing in Japan with a roadmap to expand to all products. We have made a promising start with the stock hand-over complete, and we are already displaying in over 50 new shops with the Red Line. Both Romain and Stefan left with confidence (but even higher expectations!) for our new relationship. Special thanks to our Board members Romain, Yuki. Junichi and Toru for their continued support. In addition to Faber we must not lose focus on our own brands, with Liquitex already strong, WN and Faber Castell must grow to form 3 strong brand pillars for the JV’s future growth in Japan. YTD results for Japan are solid and the signs are encouraging for the future!
