    Kings Coronation Tea Party

The Snazaroo Team are never backwards in coming forwards when there’s something to celebrate.

The Team decided to host a tea party to celebrate the Kings Coronation.

We asked for a few donations of food to top up the wellbeing team’s contribution, we were overwhelmed, never have we seen so many quiches both shop bought and homemade, pork pies and sausage rolls in abundance and as for cakes… how many? we shall be celebrating the rest of this week.

A truly happy and glorious celebration, well done everyone.

    “Long live the King”.

To celebrate the recent coronation in the UK, over the last 2 weeks the staff at the London hub have created bunting that’s now displayed in the office. The Wellbeing Team in London set out some blank bunting and a variety of Winsor & Newton and Conte a Paris graphic media, and many people contributed – the idea was to create a collection of bunting that we can display in the office which shows the pieces of British culture that matter to us!

Thank you to everyone who participated, as you can see below we have many talented artists among us 🙂

    • Love seeing the Heinz Beanz! Originally an American product (Heinz first canned them in Pittsburgh in 1895)…and the first stockist in the UK was Fortnum and Mason! It’s interesting from a brand pov too – Heinz Beans are nowhere to be seen in the USA – Brand leader is Bush’s with Heinz much more known for Ketchup and soup. Also, over here ‘normal’ baked beans always contain meat too (bacon was removed from the British version due to rationing during WW2). Oh, and most/all Americans find it extremely odd that Brits will have baked beans for breakfast….

      • So interesting that Heinz is actually American, I think of it as a British staple and iconic product. When I lived in Chicago I couldn’t find beans (or proper tea) anyway, my mum brought some in her suitcase! I hope you’ve been converting Americans to beans on toast for breakfast – they don’t know what they’re missing…

        • that’s because “proper” baked beans (just beans!) are very much made in the UK….used to be in London (where Harsa and I used to work) and now in Kitt Green, Wigan – the largest “soup kitchen” in Europe

On Thursday, May 4, 16 members of the management team took part in a workshop “changing the way we look at disability”.

This training was facilitated by the AMIPI foundation. This foundation allows people with disabilities to progress through manual labor and find their place in a company.

On the program for the day : discovery of the world of disability around tests, games and exchanges. The highlight of the day was the visit of the production workshop. This visit helped to change everyone’s view. They realized that it is possible to welcome disabled people into our firm. The feedback at the end of the day is excellent.

Next step : 7 worshops are planned for the teams.

    • Thanks for organising this beautiful day within AMIPI and for sharing with dynamism, expertise and good humour. Although we are all sensitive to disability, we still have preconceived ideas that inhibit our approach to it. Becoming aware of this through this training is a first step that can only encourage us to continue in this direction and encourage our personal and professional environment to change the way we look at it.

    • sounds like an interesting and educative activity Carole. Hope you’ve enjoyed it.

    • excellent workshop Carole

By Appointment to HM The King…

It’s not often you find yourself writing ‘shall we ask the King what he thinks’ in a project email, but that’s exactly what happened when we were invited by the Sandringham Estate to curate and produce an exclusive, bespoke set of Winsor & Newton watercolours which could be used to re-create HM’s iconic painting of Sandringham.

With personal touches from the King – such as his desire for a wooden box and his express wish that the brushes be synthetic rather than of animal origin – we also worked with the Sandringham design team to bring our two great brands together in a visually impactful and sensitive way. Only 250 of the limited-edition sets have been produced, and thanks to nothing short of a Herculean effort from the team at Kidderminster, these were delivered to Sandringham yesterday so they can be on sale in time for the Coronation tomorrow.

Sandringham are exhibiting a selection of the King’s watercolour paintings throughout 2023, and with over 1,000,000 visitors expected, we are exploring ways to support some live events throughout the summer season.

Winsor & Newton have been a royal warrant holder dating back to the reign of Queen Victoria (also an enthusiastic watercolourist) when the Series 7 brush was created for her in 1866. We still hold a royal warrant today which was granted by the then Prince Charles, and we fully expect this to be re-issued with his new title of King Charles III.

A HUGE shout out and thank you to everyone involved in the project from Stuart Yemm and me, especially to: Shane Williams, Caroline Williams, Amandine Pouillet, Kelly Jarvis, Julie Exon, Steph Nebbia, Fatima Kadic, Amelia MacDonald

Wishing all our UK colleagues a very joyful Coronation weekend, we’d love to see how you mark the occasion!
