The Wall 6 months, 2 weeks agoNO WHITE PAINT?
Caught this reel on Instagram last night. I’ve thought a lot about how a reduced product range (and reduced colour palette) could be harmonious with both operational efficiency and enhance the opportunity for our brands to increase their advocacy of colour theory education… but I never thought removing white could be an option. Really interesting process from a talented artist.
Take a look at her body of work here

The Wall 6 months, 2 weeks agoThanks to all who came to see the Hackathon take place in the London Hub yesterday. For those who missed it or located elsewhere check out the 30 seconds vid above. We opened the doors to 30 artists from professionals to students and all in between. There was a great vibe, with lots of ideas generated and observations about how our artist community use our products. The focus was on drawing materials with Winsor and Newton and Conte a Paris products. The artist participants since leaving yesterday have been blowing up my inbox with love for the products, the event and all the people they got to speak to and work with yesterday and would love to be involved in future events. Big thanks to Ajita, Mara for all the work behind the scenes and on the day. Our team mentors Clemence, Pierre, Chris, Cris and Jean and our non judgemental judges Gail and Jane. Look out for more news post Hackathon as we look to take ideas into action and produce a Colart X Hackathon playbook so its easy to replicate elsewhere.

The Wall 6 months, 2 weeks agoDrawing inspiration from the Liquitex team’s focus on unlocking creativity in daily life, our team recently rolled out a localized “Color Your Everyday” campaign in China, pairing online momentum with targeted offline activations. Tapping into the popular local internet meme “the first cup of milk tea in autumn”, a symbol of warm, shared seasonal joy—we partnered with local urban sketch artists to host workshops at a community spot near a library and café, with total 98 participants for two rounds. The venue featured a Liquitex corner, where participants freely experimented with Liquitex Basics by painting on cups and shared their creative processes on social media to join the online campaign.
The initiative delivered amazing results: the #Liquitex hashtag climbed 559,000 reaches and sparked 19,000 discussions, driven by authentic user-generated content that boosted brand visibility. Beyond promotion, this campaign embodied Liquitex’s “Just Imagine” spirit and underscored that Liquitex Basics is more than just paint, it is a catalyst for daily creativity, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary expressions.

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
