The Wall 3 years, 1 month agoSharing a couple of snaps of my short trip to attend ACMI Spring meeting to represent Colart and as a Co-chair of ACMI International Committee. I had an opportunity to present and provide ACMI members and the board of directors some key updates on what is happening in EU Regulations. Although EU Regulations is becoming more and more complex- as we know, the update was very well received by all.
Colart and the Art and Creative Material Institue (ACMI) has a long valued realtionship, I found the meeting updates from other committees valuable to us at the same time meeting other members has been beneficial to further strengthen the networks within the industry.

The Wall 3 years, 1 month agoOn Thursday 30 March, in the premises of Colart Le Mans, a painting workshop took place to decorate the future book box.
The Wellbeing team let its creativity speak on plastic plates using the “pouring” technique.
Next step: stick the frames and build the bottom and roof of this participatory library.
People will be able then to come and share, borrow, and exchange books.

The Wall 3 years, 1 month agoNAMTA is trying to demonstrate it offers value creation to membership way beyond just a trade show. Sunday sees the release of a new market/consumer study – and a truly world class guest panel leading the Q and A discussion about the study. As well as Gail on the panel I want to thank Stuart Yemm for his help on creating the study.

The Wall 3 years, 1 month agoFor many children in some countries it is not always easy to be aware of the concept of sustainable development. So when we had the opportunity to collaborate through our products and illustrate the provided speech, we did. Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
