The Wall 3 years, 1 month agoHello all, great people of COLART!
For all that has been decided and we now look back, after 10 wonderful years, I have to get off this beloved SHIP!
It has been a very important experience in my life, not only professionally!
I learnt a lot and grew professionally!
I have met wonderful people and learnt from each one.
With the Workshop Programme initially known as The Fine Art Collective, I have travelled non-stop with a suitcase full of colours, to meet some 25,000 people up close, side by side with students in Academies and schools, teachers, aspiring artists, apprentice pirates and dreamers, setting up art tables to inspire them as much as possible as this great Group, asked me to do!
… let’s not count the number of people I have reached online in Live demos over the last 3 years.
Of course! With a lot of effort, true… but I am an artist and I know that beautiful things take time, energy and dedication!
But I did it with the pride of being part of a FANTASTIC company and I am truly grateful to COLART, for believing in me and for giving me this opportunity, which is unforgettable for me.
Thanks to all my colleagues and Friends of Team Italia and those further away, for all the moments:
the beautiful ones in the calm waters, which filled my heart
the difficult ones, in the restless waters, which forged my spirit.
I would like to name you one by one and it is as if I were doing it: THANK YOU!!!
Now I have to get off the ship… and I have to say goodbye.
But in the meantime, I have put on some nice WINGS and I don’t rule out flying close again!
I invite you to observe that this Company has my name in it….
in many ways, not least in the anagram. 😊
I’ll leave you my contact details and private details under this e-mail
and I will be pleased, if you would like to contact me personally, to follow my artistic work on my social channels, on Instagram and Facebook
Take care and I wish you all the best
Carlo

The Wall 3 years, 1 month agoIt was nice to visit MacPherson’s yesterday at their DC near Atlanta. MacPherson’s are our largest distributor in North America. I’m pleased to say they told us incoming shipments from Colart are markedly improved over the past 12 months. Fill rate up, picking errors down and better packing resulting in way fewer damages. Well done to the team in Piscataway DC4

The Wall 3 years, 1 month agoUPDATE ON THE LAST TWO TOWN HALL MEETINGS
A message from Communications
Hello all,
With the best intentions to ensure smooth production and, more importantly, your experience of our town hall meetings, some of you may have been disappointed by the last two sessions.
Here is a quick update on what happened.
Town Hall meeting for Friday 10th March
We generally see around 180-200 attendees at a meeting. In reality, it will be more people, as we know many of you enjoy coming together as a team to watch on the large screens, especially at our manufacturing and DC sites. On Friday, we had an incredible 390 people attend. This added pressure on the infrastructure supporting the steaming to your device.
Town Hall meeting for Monday 13th March
We used the Live Event option for this meeting for the first time this year. We opted for MS Teams at the beginning of the year based on the options available and upgrades made by Microsoft to produce a more engaging production.
The event appeared to create two links you could all click on; however not gain access to the meeting. Also, the recording from this meeting has only become available today. We currently have a ticket raised with Microsoft and investigating the cause.
With the help of Toby Russell\’s technical wisdom and his team, we are reviewing current processes and technology to ensure we continue to deliver to your expectations.
We will publish both meeting recordings in two news articles and available on the intranet and Colart News, published today.
2023 has seen everyone connecting, collaborating and communicating more in these sessions, which we see by the increase in the number of people attending.
Thanks for being patient with us; don\’t let the technical cliches put you off attending, and we look forward to you joining next week\’s town hall meeting on Friday, 24th March, at 1330h GMT.

The Wall 3 years, 1 month agoHi, I realise this isn’t eBay but an Australian Art shop is closing and we are looking for a home for this Millennium set which I know some of you remember fondly. Condition is ‘as new’ it has been on display and never used. Would anyone like to give a home to this lovely piece? Offers will start at postage cost from Australia. Or perhaps we would like to display it somewhere in the office? WN brand team any thoughts?

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."

thank you Carlo for writing this wonderful message.
We talk in Colart about reducing our “footprint” but increasing our “handprint” which is where we can add value to others.
I can absolutely say with total appreciation that your “handprint” will continue in Colart – not least the wonderful tutorial you created for new starters in Colart.
Our thanks to YOU and never lose touch. …
