Flashback Friday: Get out your Sony Walkman and Rubik’s Cube and flashback to the 1980’s with this Liquitex decorative oil paint set!  I’m sure Madonna, George Michael and Boy George all decorated their mansion furnishings with this vintage gem.

    Another Paper Concept window arrangement.

You all have heard about our amazing retailer with few beautiful stores across biggest cities in Poland. This one is located in Wroclaw, south- west of the country relatively close to Germany. Wroclaw is strong academic center with great Fine Art Academy.

Wroclaw Paper Concept clients are – in majority – students, therefore we’ve decided to show more affordable ranges: Galeria and Winton. Hope you like it.

Paper Concept, they like it a lot, and just have asked us to build up another one in Gdansk (biggest polish harbor city, north of Poland, Baltic see coast).

Below is also the photo of nice arrangement of Winsor & Newton Studio Sets.

Northwich Art Shop in Cheshire is a dedicated advocate for art and artistic products, led by the passionate and knowledgeable proprietor, Phil.

Phil’s commitment to promoting Winsor & Newton (W&N) goes above and beyond, as he tirelessly showcases their unique features and benefits. With our collaborative efforts, we have developed a proactive approach to sales and marketing that has helped us capture the lion’s share of his business.

Our joint dedication to promoting W&N products has not wavered, as we continuously look for every opportunity to highlight their exceptional quality. Colart sponsors bi-monthly demonstration evenings hosted by Phil, which have been immensely popular with the art community.

Through our support and sponsorship, we have helped a local art group create remarkable works of art with over £100 worth of Winsor & Newton Cotman paints provided by Northwich Art Shop. This partnership has enabled them to engage in creative outreach and has resulted in a significant increase in attendance, with over 30 people now regularly attending their weekly meetings. The group is led by a local tutor who graciously volunteers her time and expertise free of charge.

As we continue to promote art and artistic products, we are reminded of the vital role it plays in mental health. We are proud to be part of a community that recognises the importance of art and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives.

    • David, your work with Northwich Art Shop and Phil is truly commendable. Your dedication and collaborative efforts in promoting Winsor & Newton products have clearly paid off, as evidenced by the increased attendance at the art group meetings and the remarkable works of art created with the help of the Cotman paints provided by the shop.

Your proactive approach to sales and marketing, coupled with Phil’s passionate advocacy for art, has created a wonderful partnership that not only benefits his business but also supports the local art community. Your recognition of the vital role art plays in mental health is also admirable, and it’s heartening to see that you are able to jointly promote art and its positive impact on people’s lives. Keep up the great work!

    • Great to see you continue to make a difference David – well done!

    • What a great example of working together to create the synergy needed to provide the opportunities for success in so many areas. Very well done David

    • this is wonderful David! Is it a model that can be rolled out to other independents to make them a place where artists want to be, not just for creativity but also for wellbeing?

    • Fantastic work David! Such an impactful way to drive a local initiative that has turned into a long term partnership.

    • The passion and drive is so impressive!

Which artists might have been a Heavy Body user if Liquitex acrylics were around when they were alive?   The term impasto is derived from Italian, it translates as “paste,” implying a thick appearance like our Heavy Body paint.  Here are a few artists that used the impasto methods in varying degrees:

Last weekend saw the launch of the UCL Slade colour and poetry symposium V. We were really fortunate to be invited to feature all of our Fine art brands, as shown on their poster created by artist Leslie Sharp. We hosted the inhouse event for UCL alumni and academics; in our elephant space and shared the platform with World Pigment Day, London pigments, (shown) who discussed the importance of colour makers and theories including our own George Field.

This was a fantastic setting for our brands to be seen in and huge thanks goes to @mark.cann for  his brilliant presentation, on watercolour manufacture from material to the finished product. This demonstrated, together, with my talk on the archive and the legacies of the  brands; how our past informs our present. How the brands are still innovating from cadmium free to heavy body fluorescent colour, showing the contemporary pigments added to our archive, courtesy of the Slade.

Some of you may have seen already, how well received these discussions were on the social media platforms of the audience that attended. The reason this is important, is because it shows our retailers how relevant and engaged we are with contemporary artists, curators museums and institutions, as well as seeding the integrity of the brands.

The actual live symposium will be from the 21st March and the eventbrite details are advertised on the Slade UCL website and social media, as well as our newsletters.
