Our Colart “Red Hot” commercial program is to support and enhance in store brands visibility, merchandising and value added…I am pleased to share the recent huge Winsor & Newton POS that Jean Bernard Devos our commercial manager in Belgium has managed to set up into flagship store of Lucas Fine Arts Store chain (15 units in Belgium). Impressive, isn’t it?

Flashback Friday for the 1863 Winsor & Newton catalogue:  I’m not sure what makes it a “Gentlemen’s” Sketching seat except likely the verbiage of the times, but I absolutely love to see products from our past.

I came across this article on the BBC News website today. It sums up to me how our own Sustainability journey will be far from linear and how we will need to continue to challenge ourselves on our thinking. I certainly always assumed that moving away from coffee pods is the way to go. It could well be, but this article demonstrates how we need to take many things in to account on our sustainability journey….and I don\’t just mean our coffee choices!

Coffee pod carbon footprint better for planet than filtered brew – BBC News

    • Hmmm…that was quite surprising for sure. It’s interesting to keep in mind that we have to weigh all aspects of our choices.

    • This is interesting. Doesn’t affect me, it is based on 280ml of coffee. I make 1000ml pots!

The relevance is key though, measuring what is need for the task. It is like cooking rice or pasta, there is often ‘left overs’ that goes to waste.

    • I’m not sure if it actually makes a big difference but in summertime I use my leftover coffee grounds on my tomato plants. Supposedly it helps them grow bigger & better.

My dear friends, you are showing very interesting finds here.I also have something I would like to share with you.

Not so long ago, I had the pleasure of seeing 2 exhibitions of Tamara Łempicka’s works. Probably most of you associate her works with the Art Deco trend, she is the most famous of them.I was surprised by her drawings and works that were created towards the end of her life.At that time, she painted abstracts.Below are 2 examples of her late works. However, I was more interested in 2 artifacts accompanying the exhibitions.

The first, is her palette of watercolor paints – probably produced by some German factory.

The biggest surprise for me was the box of oil paints.

When I looked closer, I saw a familiar brand.

It turns out that the vast majority of paints in boxes are Winsor-Newton oils!Perhaps some of you knew this creator as a user of our wonderful brand, but for me, it was a pleasant surprise.
