Fun day in the London Hub last week with Stuart Semple and his team, Kate, Eden and I for Liquitex plus a few special guests. Shooting the campaign video for ‘SUBSTANCE’ the collaboration between Stuart Semple x Liquitex. Big shout out to Mara for her assistance ahead of time and Favour, Jodie and Corina for being our in house ‘extras.  Collab  ‘drops’ later this month……watch this space.

Last week, we hosted an instore painting demonstration by Liquitex at The Works store in Watford.

Being one of the prominent stores in terms of sales during the initial 6 months of having Liquitex Basics in The Works, it was the perfect destination to have brand ambassador Kate showcase the capabilities of the products and educate customers as to how endless the boundaries actually are.

I was really surprised at how rewarding it was to see children come into store and actively engage in painting and trying something new. And to see how happy they were when their parent bought them a set of Liquitex paints and even some Mediums was truly inspiring.

We are lucky enough to work in such an influential category and seeing first hand how much joy painting can bring to people is fantastic.

A big thank you to Corina from the UK Marketing Team for organising a brilliant event which led to a significant week on week uplift for sales in that store. We also had the Head of Buying for The Works drop into the store and see first hand what the brand is all about. She has agreed to come into the hub in the near future to have a more immersive experience with our brands and to work on our expansion of products further into The Works’ store estate.

I wanted to highlight a fantastic feature shared recently on LinkedIn by artist and materials expert Matthew Kinsey—he’s well known for his deep knowledge of traditional art tools, from paint chemistry to brushes. In his latest post, Matthew spotlighted our brushes from a Winsor & Newton 1900 catalogue, celebrating both their craftsmanship and historical significance.

He emphasized the design integrity and enduring quality of those vintage brushes—an excellent nod to our commitment to artistry and tradition. #winsor&newton #lowestoft

    • Love this….Matthew is turning into a real ambassador and supporter of Colart and our brands. Always reposting and commenting!

    • Quality and integrity, that is our brand. It is wonderful to have this recognition that also acknowledges the importance of the the product design.

    • Good feature. I stumbled upon an artists studio (Josh Hollingshed) whilst spending the recent UK bank holiday in Dorset. Had a really good conversation with him on his practice and what
guides his product choices. Quality came first, referencing the comparable properties of both cadmium and cadmium free versions. Nice to see the recognition of our quality (and innovation) in both historic archives and contemporary practice

    • I love reading Matthew’s post on LinkedIn – great to see someone who loves our amazing brands
