During my summer vacation in Quebec, the St. Lawrence River was magnificent and captivating, and painting was everywhere I went: numerous murals adorned the walls of a small town on the south shore of the river, there was a huge mural in Quebec City, a pleasant encounter with Montreal-based artist Kael Mercader, who was exhibiting in Baie Saint Paul and loves to use Flashe paint, and another surprise at the Musée de la Côte Nord in Sept-Îles, where a very old Winsor & Newton watercolor box that belonged to Paul Provencher was on display in a showcase.

The Wall 7 months, 1 week agoSharing a recent collaboration Winsor & Newton did with illustrator Aysha Tengiz, to reimagine educational notebooks dating back to the 1800s from our archive. Aysha reimagined guides from ‘The Artistic Anatomy of the Dog and Deer’, transforming them into colourful characters in her signature style. The result is a brilliant blend of past and present. The collaboration was also picked up by It’s Nice That and shared on their blog. Check out the W&N website and social channels for other collaborations in the series! https://uk.winsornewton.com/blogs/articles/winsor-newton-archive-with-aysha-tengiz

The Wall 7 months, 2 weeks agoHello Colart,
A little finding from the other day that might go a long way into seeing where are the colours, from us and also everyone else.
There you can find about every pigment used in every range from every company they could record the data from.
And in a second step, once you have the Colour Index (CI) of the pigment, another useful resource is:
https://www.artiscreation.com/
Which recorded a comprehensive understanding of every pigment known and used in art at some point.
Good curiosity everyone,

The Wall 7 months, 2 weeks agoSpotted the UNIQLO × POP MART drop—proof that pro meets play is the new culture code. How to step straight into this lane? Imagine Winsor & Newton × LABUBU(not limited to this): heritage pigments with a toy‑box grin. Not gimmick, but gateway to Gen Z studios and shelves. If want a door to fashion 潮 , this feels like the key—fun, on‑brand, and hard to scroll past:)

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."

Genial Catherine ! Merci ! and super cool for helping Steve teams doing a great job in North America to develop Lefranc Bourgeois ! …
Le Quebec, petit coin de paradis (presque français). Pas étonnant que Lefranc Bourgeois et la Flashe y aient trouvé un joli terrain d’expression. Merci Catherine pour le témoignage et bravo a Kael pour son bon gout !…
