The Wall 3 years, 6 months agoLast week we had live painting billboard at the London Graphic Centre. The artist, Nadine Mahoney, used Lefranc Bourgeois Flashe to paint ‘La Danse’. The billboard will be in place for one month and it’s over 3 meters high and 4 meters wide positioned at the store entrance.Nadine said this about her experience: When invited to create a piece for Lefranc Bourgeois I immediately thought of Nikki St Phalle, she famously used Flashe paints. In my works, I often draw on cultural imagery which was ideal for the scale of this piece and evoked a wonderful sense of dynamic chaos creating the tone of the painting. It was an amazing experience, and so happy with how it came out. I really wasn’t expecting such an immediate positive response from the public. I was a fan of Flashe before but have been even more impressed this week, the opacity is amazing, I have been able to rework areas with a single coat. It such a wonderful product. I have already sent a few artists a DM with more info about the paint.
LGC also posted about the billboard on their social channels and they shared a blog post exploring Lefranc Bourgeois Flashe.LGC Instagram PostLGC Blog – Exploring LB FlasheThank you Stephanie Nebbia and Guy Peeke-Vout for your support and for making this possible.

Such a great success story Ivo! Well done to you, Guy and Steph for making this happen. I loved seeing the transition of the billboard coming to live in the LGC IG post. Looking forward to paying this a visit next week.…

I am looking forward to seeing this in real life too – it’s the first ‘live’ billboard we have done with LGC that I can recall in my time at Colart and it’s the only big brand activation we are doing for LB in the UK (for a while at least). The image and colour curation are joyous – which I think we all need right now – and we will monitor the sales impact closely. London Graphic Centre are having success with the brand and so we will use this as part of a case study with other retailers. Plus I understand that the artwork will find a new home within the business after the installation!…

Looking forward to seeing this up close – looks superb! …

The Wall 3 years, 6 months agoSnazaroo has just completed our ISO 22716 Audit. I would like to thank my whole team for getting through what I can only describe as the most difficult and intense audit I can remember in all of my career. I have come in contact with many auditors over the years, but never one as thorough and relentless as this gentleman. It was a very pressurised time for all of my Management team but due to the preparation that had been done before the audit and all the procedures and policies that were in place we were able to deal with all requests. Along with this the shop floor and warehouse were in top condition. I would like to give a special mention to Lucy Franklin (with great back up from Jeanette) who, through outstanding organisational skills, pulled everything together and remained calm and professional throughout. We have a few minor actions that we have to address, but in the auditors closing sum up of the audit he alluded to, if he had to score it, he would have given us 98%. We have unofficially passed but this is subject to a technical review back at SGS.
Thank you to all the Snazaroo team. Once again, I am very proud of you.

The Wall 3 years, 6 months agoToday, together with Jakub Kopek, we received beautiful albums from Polish artist Szymon Chwalisz. Szymon is an oil painter, creator of guitars for musical artists and helmets for motorspot competitors. (areograph) We have been cooperating for several years, creating with him, for example, workshops using our oil paints, which resulted in a significant increase in customer interest in our oil paints in Poland. The album also includes a painting entitled “Miss Winton”

Interesting painting this Miss Winton. It was great working together with him and PaperConcept last year! Hope we’re able to do more of these collabs in future. …

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
