Hi all, i am sharing here a link to a MOOC Art & Ecology produced by the Pompidou center. A theme which is the heart of Colart: Art, and of course also very actual: ecology. Unfortunately, I am sorry for my English speaker colleagues, it does not exist in English for the moment.

The Wall 3 years, 6 months agoThis consumer forwarded a lovely blog post about W&N Yellow Ochre Calligraphy Ink.
As another way to celebrate Autumn I\’m moved to write about my favorite calligraphy ink. It\’s been my go-to material ever since I branched out from Black and White. People would ask if I ever filled in my black and white drawings with color and no, that really doesn\’t work; it would be too coloring book-y. With color I need a much more neutral starting point.
Enter Windsor Newton Yellow Ochre! It\’s perfect for preliminary outlines as it can be very light and it dries swiftly, allowing me to erase the previous pencil guidelines without making a mess. If I apply a little more thickly it\’s a nice rich brown. Dilute it and it has a beautiful range of golden browns and tans.

The Wall 3 years, 6 months agoPink October / Octobre Rose = PREVENTION
As some of you already know it, I’m having treatments for breast cancer. After 6 very hard months of chemotherapy, I had removal of my breast. Radiotherapy begins end of October every day during 5 weeks.Despite of the accumulated and extreme tiredness, I’m fine : my hair, eyelashes and eyebrows have grown back. My routine is principally made of medical appointments, napping and a bit of sport hoping to reach 10km for the running race organized in Le Mans in November with the help of Pierre Ball (for those who know him).Last Saturday, I was pleased to be able to talk about my health journey during Pink October in-store presentation at Galeries Lafayette. I was lucky to be surrounded by my 3 doctors who are truly involved in their patients wellbeing : the oncologist (with the pink moustache for the time :-)), the gynecological surgeon and the psychologist.I could talk with people and put forward my determination in this journey, presenting my mantras tshirts collection IFY (Instinct, Follow Yours) used during the chemotherapy sessions.Breast cancer concerns 1 woman out of 8 but can also affect men. And this is the most deadly cancer in women. That is why so many preventive actions are taken.Self palpation and yearly monitoring with breast exams are not an option. And if any doubt, it’s important consult the doctor and don’t wait thinking it will go away. Because fear doesn’t prevent danger. And because you’re the most important person of your life.
Take care

You are such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story. I admire your strength and how you approached and endured every stage of the nasty disease you conquered. Your message about preventive care is so important – early detection via regular checkups/exams is the first step in battling breast cancer – an important message that I try to get across to women of all ages. I speak from experience and am happy to be cancer free for 14 years. You are remarkable – any I must buy some tees.

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
