The Wall 3 years, 7 months agoHello
Yesterday was the health and safety global conference. It was a visio conference, and we’ve gone through the different questions about safety for colart. We’ve been extremely happy to welcome two guests in this meeting : Jenny JOHANSSON representing the group Linden, and Jean-Michel MEOT sharing his experience on the way toward 0 accidents, inspired by the « World Class Manufacturing » approach.
Each facility, warehouse and entity have been given the opportunity to share their progress, process, and results.
In the next weeks, we will improve and adapt our communication around safety, for everyone to include it in its daily activities, having in mind that safety should not be a priority, it should be a prerequisite.
Happy safe day.
Bonjour

The Wall 3 years, 7 months agoHello,
Today I would like to share with you a story of amazing customer service, where the patience, empathy and team work of two of our agents allowed us to go way beyond what can be considered as good customer service.
Few weeks ago we received a complaint from a consumer who confused the label on Artisan Gloss Varnish with the Artist Gloss varnish and mixed the two on a painting.
In an email full of swearing and insults for the company and for the people working for it, the consumer blamed us for the mistakes.
Despite the initial thought of lecturing the consumer about his bad language or challenging his poor view of the products, Ann McCarthy, who dealt with this query, decided to listen and support the best she could.
She reached Mark Cann for some technical advice, who wasn’t sure about how to fix the accident consumer incurred into. However Mark was happy to run few tests in order to find a solution.
Whilst Ann was informing the consumer on what we were doing, Mark working on a solution to solve the issue. This took few days but consumer was happy to wait.
Once we provided the final response with the solution on how fix the mistake, the consumer was extremely pleased with us and apologised for the way he addressed us in the first email.
I personally found outstanding the effort made by the team to solve this issue, the calm in not getting offended by the tones used by this consumer and the willingness to run bespoke tests in order to find a solution.
On this occasion I want to congratulate to Mark and Ann for the amazing job done, but I also want to mention that stories like this are not surprising for me as all our agents do always their best, going above and beyond, to support our consumers and to represent the company the best they can, and I’m very proud of them.

this is an amazing story Stefano and amazing response from the team despite the initial behaviour of the consumer. You have every right to be proud of the team – something we echo. Bravo Ann and Mark!
I do however hope this consumer has learnt from this episode as the rudeness demonstrated is something that no one in Colart should have to experience.…

The Wall 3 years, 7 months agoA timely reminder of the risk from potentially innocent looking emails that contain rather nasty surprises.
Some staff today received the following email that appears to contain a scanned document from a printer:
From: Colart_Xerox <noreply@123festmusik.dk> Sent: 27 September 2022 08:58 To: Colart Person <colart.person@colart.com> Subject: Scanned from a Xerox Multifunction Printer, 27:09:22 Importance: High The attached document is an official guidance sent using a Xerox Multifunction Device Recipient : colart.person@colart.com Total Pages: 1 Receive Date : September 27, 2022 Transmit Time: 0.09 sec Attachment File Type: pdf, Multi-Page
The attachment was a webpage that contained a virus that potentially could infect your machine.
The main clue that this is not genuine is that the from address for the email (highlighted in bold) is not a colart email address which should immediately set alarm bells ringing.
If anyone has received one of these and opened the attachment, please contact the service desk who will give your computer a health check to make sure all is well.…

We wish them every success in these exchanges.
Cédric will be the 5th person to enter this system offered by the Colart Academy.

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
