Our UK Amazon Brand Store has just been updated for Halloween using brand’s fantastic new assets, I just wanted to say a big thank you to Francheska for the toolkit, Ola, Ivo, Victoria, Ian and Marc Fleckenstein for all their help and guidance to enable me to update the store.

This is the first time I have worked on Amazon and it’s a steep learning curve which I am at the early stages of, but it has been a pleasure to work on.

    • Martin has been fantastically proactive in wanting to learn about Amazon. With the all-important Halloween focus coming up for Snazaroo, he has been great at making things happen. Since last year we’ve had zero dedicated marketing resource in place for Amazon, so to now have three members of the team (Ivo, Viktoria and Martin) able to spend some time on this key sales channel is a real boost to the UK. Despite lots of change and ongoing challenges, I am immensely proud of how agile the team has been in adapting to what the business needs, and how supportive they have been of one another in the process. Well done Martin (plus Ivo and Viktoria 😉!)

    • i am very pleased to see Martin and more having the attitude to learn new skills so relevant for a new and fast growing sales channel like Amazon – it’s all about the mindset – go Snazaroo go! – thank you!

    • Great work Martin, and very inspirational re your example of learning new skills. Thanks for sharing

    • Well done on your perseverance Martin, I know there were a few “challenges” along the way but you got there and it looks really good, so thank you for your efforts in getting this over the line whilst working on other projects for me (and others I might add), namely WHS (see post below).

    • Well done Martin on your growth mindset and here’s to a successful Halloween as a result of your work …. I’m sure you will find many opportunities to practice your new skills

    • Great work Martin, this is really helping to get the Snazaroo Brand back to the top. Many thanks from all at Minehead.

    • Congratulations Martin along with Ian and to Ivo and Victoria – all of you embracing a great show of attitudes and behaviours in learning new skills and applying this to our business in Amazon. The progress is clear to see and I am very proud of you all. Thank you also to Ola and Marc for the ongoing support which is very much appreciated. Best, Anthony.

    • Martin, massive congrats & well done on persevering with this! I’m sure in a few more runs it will become second nature, but I know the hurdles it took to overcome it this time around. Well done for using our assets in an extensive way and activating across the different areas of Amazon! I’m sure this will make for a great consumer experience and brand recognition during Halloween and will make the running of AMS campaigns very effective. Thank you to you, Ola & Ian for getting this to happen in house, can’t wait to see your great AMS & promotion activations.

I am happy to announce the following retailer digital activations for Snazaroo in the lead up to the Halloween period.

    WHS

WHS Brand page has been live for a couple of weeks now including Halloween Banner and fantastic inspirational video showing both young adults and children’s painted faces. DHI (digital Hero Images) are also slowly transitioning on the website to better represent the brand and help drive sales).

We will have a dedicated Halloween banner on the homepage from 18th to 31st October and will be featured in a number of Halloween themed e mails shortly to help drive traffic to the brand page.

Also good news in that online sales are up 9% YOY already which is way above the category average of -50% in what we all know is a challenging year.

Francheska amazing Halloween Toolkit has been well received by customers, so much so that WHS are looking to create a number of Social posts using the assets where are normally they insist on bespoke content.

    Hobbycraft

Hobbycraft’s brand page went live over a week ago and Hobbycraft have also agreed to start updating the webisite with DHI images in the coming days/weeks.

With Francheska joining the UK Trade Marketing Team this month she has already had a successful meeting with the Hobbycraft digital team and is now working up bespoke content for Halloween on the back of it. I’m sure she will be happy to post more detail as and when this is finalised.

We have seen some very positive sales from Snaz in the last 4 weeks in Hobbycraft, mostly driven by the new planogram + 58% vs last year and also +9% on like for like sales, long may it continue…

    • Well done Martin, this is great work and it’s so much easier when you have brilliant assets to work with, so thank you Snazaroo team. Here’s to a Happy Halloween!

    • Looking good. Wishing everyone involved a successful Halloween

    • Martin. This is excellent work. Well done to you, Ian, Rich and special thanks to Francheska. Setting the brand up for success. Great work team. Best, Anthony

    • Thank you Martin for the special mention! Great work on getting this activated in such a timely manner this year, I know this was not the case last year so this is a huge stride forwards! Very much looking forward to delivering HC their bespoke content and seeing what you can make happen with the potential workshops! And of course, it would be fantastic if WHS goes ahead and uses some of the provided content – would definitely be the result of some great teamwork!

Well, I did it! Completed it all, never got off the bike and pedaled all the way. Up mountains, into driving headwinds, soaked to the core and scorched by the sun. What an amazing journey. Enjoyable in a strange way, challenging throughout, completely emotionally and physically exhausting.

980 miles and over 55,000 feet of elevation climbed across the 9 days. Sleeping in a tent, with as little as 2 hours sleep some nights. Freezing temperatures, with 4 am starts to pack, get kit ready, fed and on the bike for a 6 am push off. It certainly wasn’t for the feint hearted and something I will never ever forget.

Some moments stick out to me more than others and many people on the ride I will remember for every. – My bike navigation system telling me that my next turning would be in 34 miles as I slogged up Glenshee to the ski centre in driving headwinds (over 30mph!). And the decent from Glenshee having to pedal down a hill and only reaching 4mph! – Being so cold and wet only 30 miles in to the final day that my hands shook so much that I spilt my coffee all over me.- How beautiful this Island actually is! Such a joy to travel and see it. – Queuing at 5am for 30 mins to go to the toilet in 0 degrees temperatures- The enthusiasm and motivation received from the crew on the event, such wonderful people.- From my now good friends, to the few that had disabilities that completed the ride who I am in awe of.- The power of team work. Working together on the ride to ‘get through’ the day, through encouragement and a ‘tow’.- Tired giggles, as you talk to fellow riders about how ‘battered and bruised’ we all feel. Joking that we are so tired facial recognition no longer works on the phone!- The many others that were there for the charities that supported them during their darkest times, who knew how to dig deep and fight against the odds.- The roller coaster of my emotions that matched the weather. One moment dark, cold and stormy. To bright, happy and content.

A huge huge thank you to everyone that has supported me on this journey. Especially my loving family, to afford me the time to train and to disappear for nearly 2 weeks for a bike ride! My wider family for their messages of support and encouragement. My friends and colleagues for similar. I am so completely overwhelmed and gobsmacked by the support and donations.

If I haven’t thanked you in personal I apologies, it has been manic. Some donations are anonymous, so I don’t know who they are from. But my sincere thanks to you all for this. I have raised over £3550 so far, with more in giftaid. There is still time to sponsor me, so please follow the link if you would like to.

Overall the riders on the event have raised over £1m (as of 18th Sept) and over £350k for MacMillan Cancer Support. AMAZING!

Thank you all again for your support. Questions is… What’s next? Any ideas?  Or a Colart team building event one year?

    • Well done Martyn! What an amazing achievement, and for such an important cause. You should be super proud 🙂

    • Well done Martyn. And your update reminded me to make a donation to such a great charity. I was saddle sore after a 20 mile bike ride recently so goodness knows how you feel!
