    Hi everyone!

I have been assigned today to share some knowledge with all of you, representing the development team (within the technology team).

Here is a technology tip for the day!

Since Colart has removed the org chart from MS Teams and moved it into Splash, I wondered do people know how to use the org chart works in Splash?

I have made a short video to visually demonstrate to you guys how the org chart functions in Splash: https://jwp.io/s/EPJE4HeY

Pour ceux qui ne parlent que en français!

J’ai créé une vidéo juste pour vous: https://cdn.jwplayer.com/videos/faZxUJAf-7vW1MLVK.mp4

I hope you will find this helpful!

Today’s post is a series of Technology tips for once a month so you will hear from me next month 🙂

Please feel free to contact me if you have some requests or ideas for a technology tip for next month.

    Kind regards,

    Anton

    • Thank you Anton, learned something new!
Among the things that I learned is that all of the GLT have a profile photo uploaded in Splash, but for the technology team over half of the people (including yourself) have not. Maybe someone can make an video on how to do that and you will be able to do so as well 😉
I was also wondering if there is an opportunity to transcript the video (for the future) for those of us who do not have English as a first language? What do you think?

      • Hi Jasper. It’s a “slowly but surely” effort to provide videos in other languages. We are currently constrained by the cost of translations and the technology to embed it. It’s not a quick fix, I’m afraid.

        • Thank you Gareth for answering Jasper question! I’m glad you learned something new Jasper, I’ll upload a wonderful profile picture for Splash 🙂

    • Hi Anton I love the idea of top tips and thank you for creating this video! Knowing about your linguistic talents, it would be great if you could re-film in French 🙂
Also please do say in the video that the org structure can be saved as a PDF rather than printing….save the trees 👌
Thank you again and let’s all remember to upload our photos!

      • You’re welcome Jane! I’m glad you like the idea of technology tips and yes happy to upload a tutorial video in French 🙂 (I’ll insert a link next to the English video later on this week)

    • I love this initiative Anton … I’m a massive user of the the org chart in Splash so can vouch for its effectiveness. Whilst I was initially frustrated when it was taken away from MS Teams, I now see the true value in using the Splash Org Chart as “the source of truth” and importantly, accuracy. It’s an important tool to use and thanks for sharing. Lets connect so we can make this a permanent reference guide in Colart Academy!

    • Well done Anton, I certainly was not using all the functionality until I saw this

    • well done Anton, really helpful

See below a nice and inspiring message Ann has received from a loyal W&N user. Nice to see how consumers appreciate what we do as company:

    “Dear Ann,

After a long and very happy art career of 31 years using your world class Winsor and Newton Artists oils and almost 5000 paintings, you can imagine how much I love what you all do.
I have utilized other products from other vendors and there are some aspects of their materials that are actually pretty good, however when the rubber meets the road Winsor and Newton oil paints always remain my favorite. Even when I was using Artisan oils I learned and learnt and learned so much and really had tremendous sales utilizing what a lot of people think is a natural high-quality product.
I appreciate your feedback and I’m grateful for every day the opportunity to paint using your materials and I know countless other people artist just like me a are exactly the same as me and love what your company does. I’m very grateful that God led me to your product very early in 1990 and it’s been on my easel ever since.
Please share my views and comments with all your colleagues near in fire so that they can realize the magnitude of what they do is world class and life-changing for all concern those painting and those seeing. “

Thank you Ann for sharing this!

I am glad that two new people have registered to improve their level in English.

Thus, from this month, Cyrille (Finances) and Harsa (HR) as well as Estelle (Purchases) and Jane (HR) will be able to converse on different subjects and share their cultures.

Thank you to all 4 for continuing the experience already initiated between French and American colleagues.

    The Journey – Au Revoir

We have reached the end of the staycation journey together with Pen Store and Lise Hellström in Sweden. And what a journey it’s been! We have had the pleasure of following Lises journey on her Instagram where she has explored new techniques and materials to create postcards, BuJo pages (bullet journaling) and journals. Its been an inspiring journey, a journey that showed us the versatility of our products, who knew you could create a BuJo page using watercolours !!?

To end the campaign we held a generous giveaway on Lise’s Instagram, where she used Promarkers and Watercolours to create a beautiful Giveaway postcard. Curious of the outcome? Have a look at her inspiring and creative video below!

To end the campaign we wanted to share some kind words from Lise Hellström about her Staycation Journey experience:

‘’It’s been a challenging and incredibly fun collaboration together with Winsor&Newton and Pen Store and its clear to me how much I have learned along the way. Most of the times I have been working way out of my comfort zone, which is scary but also so much damn FUN. Thank you for accompanying me on this journey. You’re the BEST travel companion a girl could possibly ask for’’.

While the journey might have reached its end for Pen Store and Lise, we will continue our journey to Poland next week. Stay tuned for more creativity!

I came across this article in the news this week, a great example of not making the right sustainablity claims, even the giants can\’t get away with it

    https://uk.yahoo.com/style/persil-advert-banned-over-misleading-230100484.html

    • Good call out by the ASA. The bottle itself might be made of recycled materials (but to a quite low %), it is still a bottle that will end up in landfill/incineration. One can argue that there are more environmental friendly detergents than a liquid detergent (over here the powder one’s still come in a cardboard box for example).
I think the issue here is not Persil/Unilever doing something that is/is not beneficial to the planet, but them actively advertising they are. It would have been great if they would just have done it and not speak of it?

    • Good spot Ajita. Interesting that the ASA call out the lack of full life cycle analysis evidence in their statement.

    • Interesting Ajita, thank you for sharing. Agree with Jasper’s point, it’s a shame that these things can’t simply be part of an ongoing improvement to a product rather than making big claims for something that isn’t really that groundbreaking!

    • Very interesting. Very much agree with Jasper & Karen on the above points.
