The Wall 3 years, 8 months agoLast weekend I visited the Thomas Cole house and studio in Hudson, NY. Thomas Cole was part of what was known as the Hudson River School, painters who captured the beauty of the Hudson Valley in the 1800’s. This card I picked up shares his quote “A few short years! – these valleys, greenly clad, these slumbering mountains, resting in our arms, shall naked glare beneath the scorching sun” Cole was interested in preserving the beauty of the Catskills and the Thomas Cole site carries on by sharing https://www.plasticpollutioncoalition.org and https://ocean.org/stories/plastic-invasion/ as tools to help combat single-use plastic.

The Wall 3 years, 8 months agoYesterday TFAC artist Ryan Martin installed the project he has been working on for the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica, California. Each of the 50 paintings, painted over 50 days, uses a different color of Liquitex Soft Body. The install looks great and really showcases the brand! Check out the video he created of the installation for Instagram. Maybe Liquitex can share this with the IG story function. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ch5GxHnJDzY/

interestingly, there’s only 49 of them on the wall… I am sure he kept one for himself 😉
I think this is an amazing project and it looks fantastic seeing them all on the wall like that. Maybe there’s room in DC4 to put 50 more? (after all, there’s 100 colors in the range!)… -
What a great project and installation! …

The Wall 3 years, 8 months agoFriday was a sad day for the Team at Colart Lowestoft as we waved Bon Voyage to Abraham Ly(Engineering).
Abraham has been at Colart Lowestoft for the last 12 weeks as part of his ongoing Apprenticeship training and has been investigating with our team of ways to improve running practices and training methods. After some discussion around the factory it has been apparent that not only did he bring a big Smile and much Humour to everyone, but also made our team here at Colart Lowestoft think about how they carry out their own work and where they could make improvements. Good Luck with the rest of your training and thank you for all your help.
Bonne Chance, Vous allez nous Manquer.

a great post Tammy and so good to reinforce how collaborations like this not only bring value to the person (through individual growth and development) but also to the wider team (through challenging the status quo with different learnings). Let’s see more of these exchanges across the group…

Thank you for the message. I agree 100% with Jane that this kind of exhanges across the Group is a very good way to share knowledge and benchmarks the best practice we have.…

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
