The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoThe Journey – Welcome Aboard
Last week our Northern European Winsor & Newton The Journey Campaign took us to Sweden. Today we are traveling back to Poland through the Baltic Sea to experience the effects of The Journey with Paper Concept and influencer Katarzyna Kmiecik!
On this Journey, that started in June and will end in September, together with Kasia and Paper Concept we will explore interesting places around the world by using an amazing tool such as Google Maps. The artist selected beautiful 360° spots online that are and will be an inspiration source for her artworks during her live sessions.
In June we had a first workshop on Paper Concept’s Instagram and the topic of the month was this place in New York! You can find 2 parts of the video recording of the live below:

After the workshop we launched a contest and we have already seen very good engagement. Moreover, the influencer published several stories and posts where she included a link to Winsor & Newton products page on Paper Concept’s website.
As a part of this campaign, focused on Watercolour & Graphic Art categories, last week we prepared a beautiful window display for Paper Concept store in Wrocław, Poland.There are so many more things to come, stay tuned.
Next week we’ll be travelling to Germany!

The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoIt has become a tradition at Le Mans.To celebrate the arrival of summer and before the holidays, the wellbeing group organized a barbecue in which a large number of people took part, in a very friendly atmosphere.We wish everyone a great summer.
C’est devenu une tradition au Mans.Pour fêter l’arrivée de l’été et avant les vacances, le groupe wellbeing a organisé un barbecue auquel un grand nombre de personnes a participé, dans une ambiance des plus conviviales.Nous souhaitons à tous de passer un bel été.-

The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoLast Friday, for the last day of the monthly action on the environment (as part of the Lifespeak platform), a workshop “The fresco of the climate” brought together 10 participants whose objective was to improve understanding of climate change.
Using 42 cards distributed in batches, each group of 5 people built their fresco representing the causes and consequences.
Awareness followed by multiple exchanges took place and individual courses of action were discussed.
The participants found this session very rewarding and we are considering duplicating it throughout the company.
Vendredi dernier, pour le dernier jour de l’action mensuelle sur l’environnement (dans le cadre de la plateforme Lifespeak), un atelier « La fresque du climat » a réuni 10 participants dont l’objectif était d’améliorer la compréhension du changement climatique.
A l’aide de 42 cartes distribuées par lots, chaque groupe de 5 personnes a construit sa fresque représentant les causes et conséquences.
Une prise de conscience suivie de multiples échanges a eu lieu et des pistes d’actions individuelles ont été évoquées.
Les participants ont trouvé cette session très enrichissante et nous réfléchissons à la dupliquer sur l’ensemble de l’entreprise.-

The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoSnazaroo celebrate Independence Day.
We are always looking for a reason to celebrate here in Minehead.
Today being Independence Day in America, we took to our BBQ to prepare hot dogs for our team. The Well-being team put their international chefs’ hats on and lovingly prepared Hot dogs with onions and various sauces.
We decorated our tearoom with USA flags and coloured bunting and managed to play Kansas City chiefs V the San Francisco 49ers playing in the Superbowl on our big TV.
To our friends and colleagues over in America, we wish you a happy holiday and enjoy your celebrations.-

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
