The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoMonday, in afterwork, our nurse Pascale Fradin had the good initiative to elaborate a creation workshop using industrial waste.
Thus, the people present made a garden chime with tubes, plastic, seal handles etc.
This activity is part of the Lifespeak program initiated by the wellbeing ambassadors where each of us can watch videos on the selected themes (Colart Academy)

Did you know that we have a charity donation program in the UK and Europe? Our discontinued (disco) stock, once it has been sold through, would normally be disposed of, since 2017 we have created a donation program where charities / schools can apply and we donate our amazing products to great causes. Do you know any organisation in your local community that we could help? Click on the link below where you can download a form and share with your chosen organisation.-

Hi Ajita. Would ColArt consider donating to a charity in India?…
-
Unfortunately not, does the charity have other partners elsewhere we could work with?…

Rebecca Smith replied 3 years, 10 months ago
Sadly not, it’s a school for homeless children in India and as far as I’m aware, they don’t have any partners. I didn’t think it would be possible but they do such great work, I thought it was worth asking just in case 🙂…

The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoWhen I was at Meiningers, in Denver, last week I posted about Meccano and our new AOC, WOC, POG etc…. I was \’nudged\’ by someone 🙂 to maybe explain what some of my language meant….especially as some of it may be unfamiliar to you all….
Meccano = the Project Name for the New Winsor & Newton Oil displays (Meccano is a model construction system invented by Frank Hornby in Liverpool in 1898 where various parts are bolted together to make something, so very apt for our new displays….).
AOC = Artists\’ Oil Colour
WOC = Winton Oil Colour
POG = Planogram
I know our business uses many project names and acronyms so I hope I have demystified a few for you!…-
Thanks Steve … great update 😉 …

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
