The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoThe Journey โ Welcome Aboard
Last week our Northern European Winsor & Newton Campaign took us to Poland, this week The Journey ย takes us to The Netherlands.
For The Journey in The Netherlands we have set-up a 360 with five collaborating parties :
Winsor & Newton, key retailer Gerstaecker online creative and influencer Julia Henze,ย Urban Sketchers Netherlands and our local Instagram account @Art_Inspirations_nl. Together we started Winsor & newton The Journey on the 17th of May.During a 5 month Journey campaign all parties will continuously create, publish, and share inspiring, educational and promotional branded content online, holding on to an intricate shared planning aligned to retailerโs promotions, NPD launches and retail and USK events.
Itโs great to notice the unique commitment of all these parties which shows an amazing increase of Winsor & Newton focussed content on branded webpages, landingpages, newsletters and social media, all funneling into the retailers webstore.
Traveling has always been a great source ofย inspiration ย and our influencer @Julia_Henze is also an urban sketcher. Educational and inspiring articles by her will be published on the USK website, she will attend USK events and will continuously be posting content on Instagram, which will then be shared by all parties.
Check out the great content Julia is publishing on her Insta accountย ย For example this reel about the Cotman Themed Setsย
Furthermore we managed to recycle campaign content of 25 tutorial videos (approx.30 minutes each), created 2 years ago by renowned Urban Sketchers from Northern Europe. During this 20 week lasting The Journey campaign, each week one video will be released on the Urban Sketching website. Each video gives the viewer an unique lesson in drawing and painting using Winsor & Newton materials.
There is so much beautiful content published already last weeks and so much more to come. We will update you on upcoming events as the USK NL National Sketching weekend, Instore workshops, Livestreams, articles, challenges and many more.
Stay tuned!
Be sure to look out for our post next week that will take you on The Journey to Sweden. -

The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoI had a lot of fun at Meiningers, Denver, today. Te oil aisle used to start with Van Gogh, then our first display was Griffin. With new Meccano we now lead the department with AOC followed by WOC. A few gaps in the new fixtures but all the new colours are on order. Great to work one last time with @craigschottenstein

a much improved look Steve. Well done to Craig and yourself…

What an improvement Steve, so much more colourful and engaging! Glad you enjoyed it.…
-
The old oil run was already better than we have in many B&M stores – but Meccano is, for sure, an upgrade. Additionally, Meiningers now also want to build an Omni-channel campaign with us around W&N oilโฆ.…

The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoAs part of the Lifespeak program, wellbeing ambassadors at Le Mans offered various activities.
Among them, a zero waste workshop which took place in the presence of a facilitator, Anaรฏs RADEPOND from EKWANA
In a relaxed atmosphere, the trainees had time to share eco-responsible recipes, then made a liter of detergent, a solid shampoo and a tawashi (sponge made with used socks, which can be used for dishes, cleaning or the toilet)
Some have also chosen to make lip balm or deodorant.
A beautiful workshop to preserve our planet.

The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoThe Royal Academy Summer Exhibition opens today. This annual event has been running every year without fail since 1769 and showcases art in all its forms. The theme for this year is ‘Climate’. I was lucky enough to be given a sneak preview of the exhibition yesterday by Steph Nebbia, who has a work featured (chosen by Grayson Perry no less) and before opening to the public both the original and some of Steph’s prints had already sold! Steph’s husband, who is an amazing sculptor, also has two works on display. Colart should be incredibly proud of everything that Steph continues to succeed in, both in and out of the company – as I am – well done Steph, you are amazing! I would highly encourage anyone in London between now and the 21st of August to visit – Summer Exhibition Explorer 2022 (royalacademy.org.uk)

The Wall 3 years, 10 months agoColart allows us to donate our products free of charge to associations or hospitals in particular and I was the contact in this process. In February last year, as part of this approach, products were supplied to the Sarthe mental health hospital in Allonnes near Le Mans. A unit of this hospital takes care of patients suffering from various pathologies whose psychological age is between 6 and 16 years old. There are many activities: painting, drawing, music…Creations have been made for a year of which you will find the video below and whose background music has been created by patients.

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
