It was great to receive the Central Saint Martins UAL BA fine art students at the Hub last week,  to show their screening of videos combining analogue and digital materials. It was a fantastic insight to see the potential of our materials as part of a digital portfolio , but also  how this collaboration is landing itself on social media reflecting our brands with such an outstanding institution in such contemporary contexts. Really innovative outcomes. These will be featured on CSM platforms in full and I will share the links.

    • This is excellent. Wonderful to see Steph.

    • An exceptional outcome and one that raises lots of questions about the crossover points (and products) between fine art and digital media. Turns out that the students were teachers too – as least as far as I was concerned. Thank you Steph for sharing both the process and the finished works.

    • I’m still blown away by this session and very thankful that I attended … thank you for your brilliance, as always Steph. I have reflected on this many times since the viewing. I’m so pleased the video will be available for broader viewing as this definitely is one step forward in brand education that many asked for in both the Employee Engagement Survey and in the Corporate Communications Pulse Survey. It’s just brilliant!!!

Amazing day shooting our first 2022 Liquitex Just Imagine residency artist, Mark Zubrovich with the newly expanded North America creative team! Duane and Maria did a fantastic job capturing footage and voiceover for Mark’s upcoming feature. Keep an eye on the Liquitex website and social channels for the launch!

The North American Fine Art team is extremely excited to start installing the new Winsor & Newton Oil displays. This week, Anne Zayatz and I were able to begin the process by visiting with Jerry’s Artist Outlet in West Orange, NJ. The upgrade to their Artists’ and Winton line left management and staff in amazement. Not only that, but the change also prompted a shake-up within their aisle. As you will notice in the before and after images below, Winsor & Newton is now the leading brand when entering the Oil section.

    • looks really smart Ryan. nice to see our brands where they should be in pride of place not on the floor 🙂

    • Ryan, I don’t think I can find a heart emoji large enough…..As we know, and many GLT and Board members have visited too – Allan, and Jerry’s West Orange, remains a key retailer for the metro area art community. Finally, we are off the floor and out of the old blue displays – I’m excited to see the lift we see in our oil paints. Well done and thank you.

    • great to share this Ryan – what could look like “just a new display” is a fundamentally much better shopper experience for artists – and will benefit our retail customers as well!

    • Ryan – thanks for sharing. Really pleased to see the end results of this multi-team project delivered in store on time and budget!

    • Hi Ryan, Looks great and well executed. Definitely, far better than the old merchandising units that we were using.

    • This looks great – accessible, well organised, informative, – and easy to shop. Brilliant.

    • Congrats to all involved in bringing this to life! Looks fantastic and surely the artists will appreciate it. Kudos on garnering the leading position in the oil aisle.

    • looking good Ryan. Such an improvement! hope the customers will agree and will deliver many more opportunities to improve in store. well done!

    • Looks amazing Ryan – well done to everyone !! Now let’s fill up those few gaps on the shelf …….

I am delighted to share a sneak preview of a news style  film made by ITN Business for Winsor & Newton, to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. It is part of a series of films featuring Royal Warrant holders and we were able to collaborate with the team at ITN Productions to ensure our key messages of heritage, innovation, education and of course sustainability were communicated, along with the dynamic, future facing spirit of the business today.

It’s an impressive achievement by any standards to have maintained the rigorous standards that the award demands for almost two centuries.  That only happens through the sheer dedication of the people involved over the years. For this generation, it has been Ajita Chamberlain nurturing the compliance and quality standards needed and who passed the opportunity on to us, kicking the remarkable Colart team spirit into action in order to get the film made from concept to in-the-can in under four weeks.

Thanks to everyone involved, especially those who agreed to be featured – it can be nerve racking to be filmed and a big responsibility to represent the brand publicly in this way. The film is ours to use on all our channels and we will be promoting next week in line with the Jubilee celebrations.

1 week ago, I was leaving London after a nice visit to meet my team and other colleagues in person the new hub, which is super cool! Also had the opportunity to go to TATE and see the sets come to live – they look beautiful when we offer the right proposition in the appropriate channel. More than volume, is about a meaningful brand experience. Let’s work together to see more and improved executions this fall around the world:)
