The Wall 3 years, 11 months agoERROR IN COLART NEWS
For those of you receiving Colart News in your inboxes this morning … firstly … please read it and secondly … please note an error in the third article title which should read “Town Hall Meeting: Friday 13th May” and not July.
A massive thanks to Dominique Murzeau for kindly picking this up (much appreciated!!). And, as every cloud has a silver lining hopefully this notice brings the article to your attention. It is an important read and view of the video, especially if you missed the town hall meeting last Friday.

The Wall 3 years, 11 months agoAfter the application of 2019, the preliminary evaluation in 2020 and the review audit in 2021, CTAM is highly recognized by Tianjin Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee for the CTAM’s Communist Party building, social responsibility, public welfare/charity, culture and health creation, epidemic prevention and control and sustainability etc performance. Mr. Qiang Liu (chairman of Longxing group, vice chairman of CTAM), Ms. Ying Tang (Secretary of the Party branch of Tianjin art pigment factory, director of CTAM, attended the listing and unveiling ceremony of this civilization unit. Mr Liu made a speech before the unveiling, congratulated CTAM on its achievements, and hoped that CTAM would make persistent efforts to better fulfill its social responsibilities and develop continuously. After that, Mr. Liu and Hunter Zhang General manager of CTAM, unveiled the award plaque. At the same time, the leaders also issued incentive gift to CTAM sustainability ambassadors, canteen management personnel, EHS personnel, HR&Admin personnel and trade union personnel who were all made contributions for this award. We witnessed the unveiling process together and hope CTAM to be better and better, and reach a higher level in the journey of realizing Colart’s vision – Inspiring every artist in the world.

This is great, thanks for sharing! I did try to look for some specific insights in the UK on ‘Halloween’ as the ‘holiday’ in the filter and the results came up with a picture of a very annoyed-looking lady and some text which said ‘Looks like what you’re searching for isn’t here.’ 😂…

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
