Take a look at how my hoarding of unwanted/recycled timber has let me build lots of useful stuff in a very sustainable way
https://intranet.colart.com/en/cgt/wood-reusing-mother-natures-sustainability-marvel/

Love it Toby – thanks for sharing. Recently there has been a lot of building work in my area and I must admit than when out for a walk if I come across a skip I can’t resist helping myself to some offcuts – these get used either in the garden or my allotment.…
-
Toby Russell replied 3 years, 12 months ago
I am always shocked by how much useful timber goes into skips, particuarly given how expensive it is at the moment. I believe some gets seperated out at waste recycling plants for re-use but most is sent to incinerators.…

The Wall 3 years, 12 months agoHere’s a common mistake that is popping up more often just recently.
So, do you know the answer?
Responses in the comments box, please.
-
Gareth, this is an increasingly common challenge for our brands, brand directors, brand teams, social media teams, local markets, external agencies.
Here are some quotes from an evidence-based book called โBuilding Distinctive Brand Assets โ by Jenni Romaniukโ โ that highlights the challenges we need to face into.
โDistinctive Brand Assets make up a brandโs identity. But not all marketer actions effectively build distinctive assets.โ
โBig brands often have many people working on marketing activities, which leads to greater risk of inconsistencyโ
โThe price of inconsistency in assets in the shopping environment is felt in both buyer MEMORY and the BOTTOM LINEโ
โVisual inconsistency interrupts the fluency or our recognition processโฆ you need to make the assets visually consistent across all iterations of the brand on-pack and off-packโ
โWith great consistencyโฆ brands can gain an edge over other brands. This sustained discipline can pay off in the long runโ
-
Word well said, Lawrence and THANK YOU for sharing this very important message.…
-
It would help if our internal branding also was consistent. ColArt is still all over the place including in CTAM email addresses and the logo on MRC reports to name a few. It would be less confusing for people if they never saw ColArt on any of our internal things.…
-
It’s also on our internal invoices coming out of m3 with the wrong logo …

I’ve wondered this since before my first day as the paperwork I received was a mixture! And I’ve not been sure which one is correct since as both get used interchangeably. I believe it should be the one on the left though.…

a good insight Laura that we need to include this clarification for new starters (and yes…the one on the left)…

On the odd occassions my phone defences fail and a recruitment agent call gets through to me (I get 2-3 per day trying), they often pronounce the business name as ‘co-lart’, immediately consigning themselves to the ‘Thank you very much, not interested, good-bye’ pile.
I’m currently going cold turkey on the drinking coke after a mauling by my doctor. Very hard when the company you works for reminds you of your favourite drink constantly:
-
Ha! Love it Toby and the creative play on the word …. and also agree with your sentiments … co-lart v;s col-art…
-
-
while we’re at it, could we also remind ourselves to stop using abbreviations for our brands (names) in external facing communication? …

The Wall 3 years, 12 months agoI am happy to share that M3 was rolled out in CTAM from May 09, 2022.
The first domestic customer order has been proceeded with success on the first day. It is certain that we are still facing some issues, however ramp-up is expected in the coming weeks.
To ensure a smooth start, group APP team started working from 3AM (FR time), a big THANK YOU to the great APP team.
Since project kicked off in Sep 2020, tremendous efforts have been put in place from various parties, across different countries, across different teams. Itโs a real diverse, cooperative, and committed team!
Letโs embrace the unified ERP in our Colart family!…
-
Bravo Cathy and all the CTAM and IT team that supported this important project for Colart and China !
Surely, we can say that it has been a “silent launch” thanks to the clear right preparation and anticipation ;
Great job , thank you to all of you for this success and the time you spent to make it happen this way !… -

Well done everyone on the successful roll out of M3 into Tianjin. This is a key milestone for the business and the completion of our program which has seen all of our distrubtion centres, Le Man, Crown and now Tianjin unite around a single platform.
Thank you to everyone for your huge efforts in making this happen, made all the more impressive when we consider this was delivered in the midst of a pandemic which prevented us all being able to work together in-person.…
-
What an amazing result and such a significant milestone. To Dominique’s point I vote NO to the silent launch and lets celebrate this achievement out loud and proud.…

The Wall 3 years, 12 months agoSo I was wondering if anyone has a wireless barcode scanner that could be dropped off for a careful loan at the London Hub. It would be a great help to lock down a problem I am having with B2B ๐
-
@michael janmaat: can you help Arthur, as I believe you run a test with a scanner in Holland at the moment isn’t it? Might be enough to send him the details, as sending to UK is more expensive then sourcing one locally.…
-
Of course! I have the Eyoyo EY-015.
You can find it on Amazon: -
Bonjour Arthur. I can loan one for you. Just tell me the urgency. If urgent, I will send it to you tomorrow. If not so urgent, GLT members are in Le Mans W21. One of the members can put it in her suitcase and give it to you.…
-
Thanks for all the messages ๐ We thought it would be great to avoid buying one if one is available. @Vincent, so yes please if a GLT member has room in their suitcase! I am in Le Mans 4-7th July but be great to have it before then..…

I will definitely be able to fit it in as I am driving down (and praying to the gods of electricity that I make the distance!)…

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
