The Wall 4 years, 1 month agoI wanted to share that another art class from the Hobbycraft series is now live to book:-
Liquitex Acrylic Floral Painting with Abi from artist duo Tipperleyhill:-
https://classbento.co.uk/liquitex-acrylic-floral-painting-with-tipperleyhill
This class will be promoted on Hobbycraft’s social media channels (both Instagram and Facebook), the week of the 28 March.
Background on the artists:-
Abi and Roz work together on large original acrylic and oil paintings, layering up mixed media papers on to canvas, adding oils and acrylics. This unique style of collaboration gives the artwork layers of techniques and styles by two artists. They create gorgeous pieces reflecting their love of colour and interiors. They met at art college and have been friends ever since. They formed their partnership Tipperleyhill, and have collaborated with Fashion brands such as Oasis and their artwork featured on fabric for the fashion collection in Spring 2021.
Look out for the next class in the series which will feature Eleni Sofroniou using Promarkers. I will share details once available.

The Wall 4 years, 1 month ago50.000 working hours ago, Paul Strobbe sold his first Winsor & Newton product.
He started 38 years ago as sales rep for our Belgian Distributor. But time to say goodbye now!
As a small thank-you-and enjoy-your-retirement gift, we organized a lunch in a very nice Italian restaurant in Antwerp.
Paul won the Benelux Bowling Award twice, which explains one of the 2 goodbye presents he got from the current Colart team members, who welcomed him when Paul joined in 2013 the team of Colart Benelux, adding all other great Colart brands to his offer.
It was a pleasure to work with Paul. Please join me in wishing him a great time!

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
