The Wall 4 years, 1 month agoCatherine and I popped into town on Monday to have a look at what’s happening in store. Have a look at the attached photos and summary. The three stories that popped out were Shopper Experience, Increased use of QR codes and sustainability in POS and products.
Hope you find it interesting.
Amelia & Catherine-
Super interesting! Love seeing the pictures from the stores. I find it fascinating how more and more we’re seeing a blend of IRL & Digital experiences, both online and in-store.…

Yes quite right there is a significant shift sine reopening post the pandemic.…

It was only a few years’ ago we were all being told QR codes were dead – now they are everywhere again. I think consumers have really got so used to them now, eg, even a menu in a restaurant, that they are here to stay……as long as they link to engaging content and information!…

The Wall 4 years, 2 months agoA month ago you will recall the post from Marine celebrating the first big step for the Labelling Project, by completing 3 077 artworks. Changing our labels also means we need to update our Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), regulated documents used to communicate the hazard and safety measures in more detail.
Almost in the background the Regulatory Team have been meticulously updating these documents, encountering and problem solving many issues along the way.
Today they can be proud of creating nearly 4 000 new safety data sheets in 21 languages. Each uploaded to The Bank for you and our customers to access. This is a first for the Regulatory Team, never before have we been able to turn out this volume of safety data sheets. It was also a first for Claudia who had never written one before.
Please join me and show some encouragement as they enter the final stretch, with only a few hundred left to complete.
Alex Ou, Claudia Hafford Tear, Aaron Ford and Eduardo Harris
I’m very proud of the effort and dedication you have all shown. GO TEAM!

The Wall 4 years, 2 months agoLast night Elephant Academy hosted its first meditative art workshop, which received rave reviews. Here’s one testimonial:
“Just a quick email to say I loved the workshop tonight and would happily sign up for a longer course. The workshop was relaxing and non-intimidating, and Miranda was so peaceful and welcoming. Just what I needed in my life right now. Please some more of this…”
I’m specifically looking to engage with my fellow commercial directors (and brand directors too) on ways you can help support the growth of Academy, with it’s contemporary, accessible (and fun!) focus on creativity and Colart products.
Do get in touch with me and Briar with your thoughts. Thank you

The Wall 4 years, 2 months ago📲 I wanted to highlight a great way we’ve been using the ‘Add Yours’ IG story sticker feature in our Snazaroo Instagram stories.
Launched at the end of 2021, the’ Add Yours’ sticker feature in IG stories, allows users to respond to the sticker with a visual submission of their own, in response to a prompt or topic. We’ve been using this feature as a weekly series on our Instagram stories, with the aim of providing ‘themed prompts’ for users to add & share their Snazaroo face paint creations. Eg) ‘Share your favourite Snazaroo face paint looks’, ‘Share your favourite Snazaroo face paint looks for festival season’ etc…
🎨How can/does this relatively small, but significant feature, benefit us as a brand as well as our Young Adults demographic?🎨
✔️By submitting a response to our sticker, the user shares both their submission & our ‘Add yours’ sticker to their stories; hence being a great brand awareness tool for us
✔️Being an action-driven feature, it instantly increases and most importantly encourages community engagement
✔️It lets us discover new accounts and find new creators globally, as well as allowing us to then build relationships with them to collaborate on future campaigns
✔️Allows us to highlight talented creators (of all face painting skill levels) to the rest of our community. Especially important to boost the confidence of smaller creator/influencer accounts to encourage them keep sharing their amazing creations with us
✔️Allows us to collect new content/UGC to potentially feature organically on our grid or use in future marketing campaigns (with a negotiation/payment for usage rights where necessary of course)
✔️Further showcases that we continuously aim our IG community and channel to be an inclusive and comfortable space for users of all skill-levels and all face painting styles to share their creations/UGC-
Karen Spinner replied 4 years, 2 months ago

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
