The Wall 4 years, 2 months agoSnazaroo celebrated International Women’s Day by watching a short video explaining the origins of this day and the struggles of women to get where they are today. We at Snazaroo are very much an equal culture. We sat down to cakes & fruit whilst watching the video.
We recognise with pride the social, economic, and political achievements of women worldwide, we understand the need to acknowledge the gender bias and must be proactive in addressing such issues.
Whist celebrating International Women’s Day, the team rallied together to show our support to the people of Ukraine. There were a vast number of supplies donated. We also received some money donations which we have arranged to be spent on additional supplies from the Ukraine ‘need list’.A member of our team has also volunteered to drive all the donations to the nearest collection point this week.
This was a huge effort by all at Snazaroo and we can’t be any prouder of working with such a generous team.
Our thoughts are with all the people of Ukraine and their families.-
It was great to be part of this and see the whole site come together not just to celebrate International Women’s Day but in their support for the people of Ukraine with a fantastic amount of donations. Well done everyone at Snazaroo…

Tuesday, on the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, the wellbeing group in Le Mans invited Anne Ballester who left everything to live in Canada and then in the Amazon with the Yanomami where she spent more than 20 years.
Anne, nicknamed “Mamo Kasi Ki Ixi” (the woman with the edge of the black eyelid) told her story and told us about the life of women in this part of the world.
Very interesting exchanges which continued after the conference. Anne found the people very receptive and it did her good. Maybe she will go back? We don’t doubt it for a moment.
A book written by her brother Pierre on the life of Anne Ballester can be borrowed from pascale.fradin@colart.com
It should be noted that this conference took place both face-to-face and remotely.
Until Thursday, an exhibition of Anne’s photos can be seen in the production room.-
A great moment of learning, interesting to see how different the way of lifes can be in our world and how every one can decide to build himself a different life of his original one. …

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
