The Wall 4 years, 2 months agoHello
To celebrate International Women\’s Day, I am really happy to share this reel which is featured on the Hobbycraft Instagram channel today.https://www.instagram.com/p/Ca157_DgIUJ/
Artist duo Tipperleyhill created the fabulous piece of art with a quote from Michelle Obama:- \’Walk your own walk\’.
The artists have used Liquitex Heavy Body Paint for their creation. I wanted to share a little bit more about the artists, who have a wonderful backstory in terms of their friendship, and how they now work together.
Abi and Roz first met in New York at work, early on in their careers. They became best friends and when they returned to the UK, they decided to form an artist partnership (Tipperleyhill), so that they could continue to work together. They often work together on canvasses, each bringing their own personalisation to the piece.
It really is an excellent example of women working in collaboration and each bringing their own unique style to a project. Please share the social post.
Happy International Women\’s Day!
What\’s coming next? We will be collaborating with x3 wonderful artists and illustrators with Hobbycraft in April for some Online Classes and Tipperleyhill will be part of this programme. We will share more on the exciting partnership in the coming weeks…..!

The Wall 4 years, 2 months agoColart and its customers are under constant assault from scammers, hackers and other forms of naughty people who are determined to steal money, company data and infect our IT systems.
To help in our defence I’ve made a short (20-ish minutes) set of videos giving an overview of the main topics together with some real life exmaples of what can happen and advice on how you can help protect yourselves from being caught out.
I know its hard to find 20 minutes in our busy lives, but getting our security right could saves the business $$$ in losses and reputational damage so please try to find the time.
You can find it here: https://intranet.colart.com/en/courses/it-security-essentials/

This is a great course and I recommend everyone to watch these videos – we all need to take responsibility for protecting ourselves personally and Colart…

Kim Stylides replied 4 years, 2 months ago
Thanks, Toby. I will be sure to watch this before the end of the week. At least several times a week I question the credibility of an alert or email – and much more frequently on my personal devices. …
-
too important to ignore – so go get and find that 20min individually or as a team (maybe more fun!) in the weeks to come…
-
Thank you for sharing Toby. Will watch and look forward to learning something new (every day)…

The Wall 4 years, 2 months agoTo all of womanhood … this is your unofficial anthem
I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an’ pretend
‘Cause I’ve heard it all before
And I’ve been down there on the floor
No one’s ever gonna keep me down again
Oh yes I am wise
But it’s wisdom born of pain
Yes, I’ve paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
You can bend but never break me
‘Cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
‘Cause you’ve deepened the conviction in my soul
Oh yes I am wise
But it’s wisdom born of pain
Yes, I’ve paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my lovin’ arms across the land
But I’m still an embryo
With a long long way to go
Until I make my brother understand
Oh yes I am wise
But it’s wisdom born of pain
Yes, I’ve paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to I can face anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
Oh, I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
I am woman

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."

If your smiles are any indication of the meeting, it was very productive! Can’t wait to hear about the new contacts / new energy. …
Hope the nego’s went well Steve!…
Glad to see and hear that the meeting was well received. …
The new team at Michaels also confirmed they will be at Namta in Orlando during April.
As an aside the Michaels logo on the wall was very cool – all the bits you can see sticking out are pencils!…
great to see Winsor & Newton pencils on the wall!
…
Not W&N sadly Piet as they needed pencils that were red!…
I thought they used those because the W&N ones were all sold out 🙂…
Can’t wait to hear more from your meeting Steve – how is Michaels changing under ex Walmart leadership? – How is our strategic partnership evolving and aligned with our sustainability, brand and digital focussed agenda?
And of course I am very exited to be with you and the NA team in Orlando @ NAMTA with Gail and our chairman Paul Schrotti in just a few weeks time!!! …
A full report heading to you and Gail this week Dennis!
Yes, Orlando should be nice – booth bookings are up nicely vs the last ‘in person’ show in San Antonio in 2019. It looks like there will be buying teams in Orlando from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn, Blick, Jerry’s, all the AGA Group….…
great photo 🙂…
