Today I received a wonderful memento from my friends and colleagues at Crown Artist Brush Lowestoft. This month is the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the brush factory in Lowestoft. I am very proud to have been a part of that journey and very pleased to see that the site is still so busy and that the team in Lowestoft are thriving. thank you and well done Team Lowestoft!

    Did you know…

Sending and storing e-mails have a significant impact on the environment?
Sending 20 emails a day, for a year, is equivalent to driving 1000 km by car?

Email consists of data that is sent all over the world via fiber optic cables and is stored in large data centers. These data centers consume enormous amounts of electricity for sending, processing, storing and analyzing data. In addition, the climate in a data center must be stable and this requires a lot of cooling water, not to mention the emissions, raw materials and water needed to set up the expensive data centers.

Storing emails takes a lot of storage space and because they have to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the servers are always on. So years after you forgot about that great offer, the newsletter still exists in your inbox and the server is working for it. Long live the cloud!

Removing emails you don’t need to keep in your online folders or cloud is one of the most simple actions, I guess, we all could take at least. As well as making the most use of our Teams software by linking to files instead of attaching it to emails.

Social as we are, we often send a “Thank you” or a “Great” when someone has done something for you. This causes polution, but fortunately, we now have Teams for that, which allows us to skip that type of emails. Let’s stay social, but a little more sustainable.

If you find this interesting, please read more about it on the web as there are many sustainable steps to take in the same way regarding social media, watching television, music streaming and gaming.

Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas regarding this topic.

    Best,

    Robert

Last Tuesday, a Wellbeing session brought together some employees of various departments around the theme of « DIY » Christmas decorations. These creations are made entirely with waste material from Le Mans site, in a eco-friendly spirit. The Christmas trees are now decorating the reception and the canteen.
Many thanks to all participants for their creativity and this moment of shared conviviality. Thanks also to any people involved in the logistical organisation in the conditioning area.
