I would like to share with you a couple of Merchandising developments that were completed recently to support some NPD/EPD projects.

Lefranc Bourgeois Flashe Bio-Based Project 🍃

This project was to have a frame to highlight the new colours in the Flashe bio-based range. I was tasked with a brief to have the colours framed within the LB product planogram while being remaining shoppable, removeable if shelves needed to move and sustainable where possible.

There were challenging restrictions as the existing merchandising equipment within the planogram bays meant the frame could not exceed the width of the bay and the height had to accommodate for the hanging product above. Also, the shelf strip ticket holder had to be accessible. But we made it work!

After trails and prototyping, the decision was to make the frame from recycled and recyclable plastic which meant the frame would be durable to withstand customers shopping over time as it is a permanent item.

Conté à Paris POSMERCH Refresh Project 🖌️

For this project, the POS artwork was being updated to align with new brand identity and after some market feedback, the decision was to keep the existing CDU (counter display unit) that already displays loose Conté à Paris products and elevate it with a new base system that could show more and new POS/comms.

The base design had to be modular, which means it can either be used as a tabletop display or attached by brackets to make it fit into the instore display bays. The base has a lens to hold POS/comms and a try-me test area making it more usable for the customer.

Also, a logo header add-on was developed to be attached for more brand visibility.

Thank you to all the project and brand team members who contributed to ideas, artwork and processes and to the markets for their valuable feedback along the way. Can’t wait to see these in stores!

    • Will look very cool in store !! cant wait to see all this in real life 🙂

    • Thank you very much Chevelle for your efforts. The Conté à Paris renewed merchandising was a good support for us especially at the Frankfurt Fair, where its important to show customers our novelties at the beginning of the year and the presentation at the stand is important. The LB Flashe Bio-Based frame was one of the highlights at our Frankfurt Fair stand, according to comments from our customers.

Health and Safety Day! A bit late posting, but we did gather the team together for World Heath and Safety Day in April!  We ran a refresher session and finished with a scavenger hunt!  Small teams were tasked with finding a variety of safety equipment or finding the answers to questions such as how to get prescription safety glasses! It was a useful reminder for us all, and winning teams were awarded with certificates and choccies!

RACE FOR LIFE – PRETTY MUDDER JULY 2025

Cancer is something that affects so many of us, I am entering a Pretty Mudder Race for Life in July to help raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The last time I entered this event was in 2018 – I’m hoping I still have it in me! Otherwise it may be a walk in between obstacles! lol

If anyone would like to make a donation on my sponsorship page the link is below. Any amount, no matter how small, is welcome and very much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Hobbycraft came last week for an onboarding session where I was able to demonstrate the relevance of our materials to all their consumers both hobbyists and art students. They had the opportunity to test modern methods in their making with Mark Cann to better understand the integrity of our materials formulation against artisan makers.

The next day we had a visit from Rolls Royce appointed artists who came to look at how their brand of choice is made employing modern methodology. Mark Cann took them through all the processes. Winsor & Newton are permitted in the bespoke artistry at Rolls Royce /BMW because of the availability of SDS data and the lightfastness and permanence in their own testing, before allowing any materials on their vehicles. Winsor & Newton Professional acrylic is the medium they use, but as these art school trained artist employees, like so many artists who work in creative industries, they were keen to know about all of our brands and materials. Given that Rolls Royce is part of BMW and the  contexts and collaboration BMW have had with Jeff Koons, it was a fantastic opportunity and context to educate more about our brands.

    • Hi Steph, thank you for your great and much appreciated contribution to the Hobbycraft retailer visit. Your wealth of knowledge of our heritage, our brands and their application through the products in a passionate and easy to digest manner was spot on!
Also super great to better understand our collaboration with Rolls Royce – really great! Best, Anthony.

    • This is amazing, true Colart ambassadors Steph and Mark
