This Earth Day, we’re proud to reflect on the steps we’re taking at Colart to protect our planet — together.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re making meaningful progress through real action:

We’ve invested in renewable energy contracts across our global sites

Installed solar panels to harness clean energy where possible

Committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to reduce our carbon footprint in line with climate science

These efforts are just part of our wider journey to becoming a more responsible business — and every action counts.

This years theme is about renewable energy, ever wondered how you line up with the elements, take this quiz and find out….

    What Renewable Energy Are You?

There is something new on the intranet…..have you noticed it?

Look to the bottom left of any page on the intranet and you will see an orange tab with the word “Translate”

If you click on this button you will see two flags….by clicking on the French flag the WHOLE intranet can be translated into French and this even includes the comments on the Wall!!  A Chinese flag is to follow soon for translations.

Thank you to the Tech team for this super addition 👏👏👏

Liquitex proudly sponsored the 2025 FATE Educators Conference highlighting Bio-Based. The event was held April 10–12 in the DC Metro Area and hosted by George Mason University, focuses on empowering students with tools for sustainable creative practices. The sponsorship included workshop access, exhibit space, and brand visibility through ads, samples, and a year-long presence on the FATE website.

    • love this! was there any key takeaways or insights from the event ?@erin-keenancolart-com

      • Lots of interest in the bio-based paints from educators looking to guide their students toward sustainable options. Iridescent gold from bio based was a hit. Common questions asked were about the ingredient makeup, if using the paints makes a substantial difference, and the price point. Sometimes a guided demo/simple product exploration is a big hit at conferences where attendees are mostly hearing lectures. Printouts guiding visitors to educational resources on the site were really appreciated as well!

    • its great the educators are thinking about the role they can play in inspiring the next gen to care about sustainability.

    • Congrats on a successful event! Educators can have big influence to drive interest adoption into more sustainable products.

    • Looks great Erin!

Procurement success : Ridig box category initiative!

What is a rigid box  ?

Rigid boxes, often associated with luxury and premium products, are made from thick cardboard. They are not designed to be folded flat and are  known for their durability and protective qualities, making them ideal for high-end products. They are typically made up of a base and a lid

🔍 Before the Project: Challenges We Faced

❌ Liquitex Vacform Remove project ❌ 1 historical UK supplier + 1 French supplier taken over by a big Italian Group + 1 Chinese supplier (for only 1 box)  ❌   No contract ❌ 27 skus

✅ Today: What We Achieved Together

💡 2 French local Suppliers (less than 60km/38miles)

    💰 Toolings Cost : 14000€ (vs 25110€) à cost savings : – 11 110€

Boxes cost savings (based on 2024 annual volumes): – 80 000€ (-41% on purchased costs)

📜 Development of Partnership : 3 years contract signed with both suppliers

6 months free storage at suppliers’ devices

6 months forecasts order with 1 call for delivery a month

Technical specifications (thanks to Methods) signed with both suppliers

🌱 Both suppliers are Ecovadis registered

Project to improve sustainable actions (ex : decrease carton weight, rotation of European Pallets…)

✅ Audits have been successfully set up and we discovered with pleasure all the process and organization of each factory.  That’s so interesting and inspiring !

🎥 Discover below a video making of from MPO France
