The Wall 1 year, 1 month agoSuper congrats to the UK team for injecting real energy, commitment and drive in our UK team meeting held last week at the UK DC7 in Kidderminster.
Time was dedicated to: focusing on the Strategic Growth Drivers; ensuring clarity of performance on the commercial & marketing plans to deliver growth of our house of creative brands in the Year To Go; and getting closer to our NPD and merchandising solutions with engaging and interactive training sessions. The meeting concluded with a Site Wide address in the warehouse bringing everyone together.
With special thanks and call outs to:
– The Commercial team for rising to the challenge that The Range presents, by driving for new business growth in:
– The Fine Art Channel in the independent sector with clear new business opportunities and targets along with a clear communications and commercial marketing plan based on geographical location to a Range store in order to optimise sales.
– The Mass Channel seeking to grow faster in Hobbycraft, other key existing accounts and accelerate growth opportunities with businesses such as The Works.
– Charlotte and Marketing team for putting together the “mini Frankfurt – maximum Kidderminster” super high paced, interactive product training sessions across W&N, LQX, LB, Conte and Snazaroo.
– Eden for the “hands on” educational training sessions on the LQX metalics and LB Bio based binders and new colours.
– Corina for bringing the Snazaroo card game and finger painting to life with a very “hands on” experience.
– Jan for all her planning, coordinating and organisational skills across the 2 days– Shane and the wider team for ensuring a super -efficient site, agile and responsive to the business needs and keeping everyone safe from a H&S perspective.
With a challenging year ahead, ColartUK as OneTeam is positively focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for the business.
Best, Anthony

It is always great to have everyone together, and Anthony, you did a brilliant job, as always, of not shying away from the challenges that we have to face but keeping everyone motivated and focused on what we have to do. Maximum Kidderminster!!!…

The Wall 1 year, 1 month agoSuper congrats to UK DC7 team at Kidderminster for ensuring a super-efficient operation: Driving commercial and sustainability decisions with Health & Safety a red thread and at the heart of i) Behaviours ii) Communications and iii) Management involvement.
The TV screens that the team installed at key locations across the site, including reception, are hugely impactful. They highlight the critical KPI’s and ensure everyone is living and breathing our values.
At our recent UK meeting, all attendees were welcomed with these screens and key statistics showcasing the site has over 1,227 days and counting… with Zero Lost Time Incidents.
Great work. Best, Anthony

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
