The Wall 1 year, 3 months agoRenowned Artist Geoff Tristram Visits DC7
On December 18, 2024, the Colart UK DC welcomed a special guest, the renowned artist, cartoonist, and author Geoff Tristram. Known for his iconic illustrations, artwork for major brands, and humorous storytelling, Geoff visited our site to collect some canvas, organised by Hayley Griffiths, but his visit became so much more.
While at the Distribution Centre, Michelle Green, one of our dedicated SOP team members, greeted Geoff. Michelle listened to Geoff’s fascinating stories and shared updates on Colart’s latest activities and developments. Their conversation reflected the spirit, culture and values we strive for at Colart.
Geoff’s visit reminded me of the strong ties Colart maintains with the art world and the people who bring our products to life. As a long-time collaborator with Winsor & Newton and Reeves Paints (all the way back to the Oasis Arts & Crafts days), Geoff’s connection to our brand runs deep. His visit served as a chance to bridge the world of art with the UK operational heartbeat of Colart’s supply chain.
Michelle’s warm welcome and thoughtful conversation made Geoff’s visit memorable. These moments of personal connection continue to highlight Colart’s commitment to supporting artists and fostering a positive, people-first environment.
I want to thank Hayley for organising it and Michelle for going above and beyond to make Geoff’s visit enjoyable and inspiring.
Their actions embody the values we work towards every day.

The Wall 1 year, 3 months agoColart made an amazing donation to Asheville River Arts District in Ashville North Carolina!! In late September, Hurricane Helene caused record flooding and terrible landslides that produced extreme damage to Asheville, North Carolina.
Asheville River Arts District is a creative community of hundreds of artists. They host events, have classes, tours and have many galleries. The 5 palettes of discontinued product we donated have already been given to many local schools and artists that were harmed from Hurricane Helene. The artists are so grateful to get back on their feet and to use our product again that they sadly lost.

The Wall 1 year, 3 months agoHello to all!
I wanted to share this wonderful reel that represents the truly collaborative effort put towards making our wide range of activations a success in North America this year.
As a “mighty team of two”, Maria Gottfried and I have worked with a multitude of stakeholders throughout 2024 – across brands, channels, clients, artists, etc. – in crafting stories (large and small) that bring to light the unique attributes which make our materials and services so special.
We’ve presented the journey of artists through the Liquitex Residency program, developed brand assets for print, ecomm and social regarding the Just Imagine and Through the Eyes of the Artist campaigns, supported our retailers with exclusive NPD content, informed consumers by way of educational demos, product unboxings, and training modules, and helped kick-start local partnerships that we hope impact the greater Colart community.
I am very proud to be a part of a Marketing team that works tirelessly to leverage our collective passions, engage our end users, and inspire creators of every discipline.
Here’s to learning our lessons, expressing our gratitude, and creating bigger and better in the new year. Cheers!

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."

Hi Shane,
It is always a pleasure to hear and listen to Geoff’s stories, from his ‘Oasis days’, and very interesting to hear his stories whilst working as an illustrator for us. He has so much passion for ColArt and our Winsor & Newton brand.
Geoff contacted me for some samples of our professional canvas as he has a painting for a stately home and wanted to sample the linen and cotton range. As Geoff only lives ten minutes from DC7, I was able to offer him some damage canvas for samples, he was very appreciative that we were able to support his request.
It would be lovely to have him visit our site again, for a talk and listen to his stories in more detail.
…
What a great story – I remember Geoff from the Oasis days especially his caricature drawings of the Oasis team. It’s nice to hear we are still connected and inspiring artists through our brands. It would be great to have Geoff on site for a well-being event.…
Fran, that is a great idea!…
As I imagine you know I’ve met Geoff a few times over the years! A charming, funny, genuine and talented man with a huge passion for our brands! It fills me with joy to see how well he was treated in Kiddy…though I am not at all surprised by team Kiddy as class is permanent! To this day I have a caricature on the wall in my home office in New Jersey that Geoff drew of me at a Spring Fair at the NEC. I’ve aged a bit….…
Very interesting and I think Geoff will an excellent speaker and very entertaining, I’m sure everyone will be very engaged and keen to hear about his experiences. …
