The Wall 1 year, 3 months agoA great way to raise the profile of our French brands with ARTIPS, the medium favoured by young people for its short, easily digestible, educational and popularised cultural content. We produced a newsletter dedicated to their network, with more than 800,000 subscribers, as well as a game in their advent calendar to learn a little more about the Flashe and try to win a discovery box, which generated 5,089 entries! Great media coverage for LB at the end of the year!

The Wall 1 year, 3 months agoHow lucky I was to spend some time with our team at CTAM during my trip to China for CHINA COAT, the world’s largest raw materials trade fair.
The aim of this trip was to create synergies and connections. After taking up my position as Lead of purchasing for RM at group level, I am in the process of setting out the strategy and CTAM is an important stakeholder in this. I’d like to thank Wei Li and her team for their hospitality and for making this trip so enjoyable.
During the CHINA COAT, Wei Li and I had the chance to meet the BECKERS purchasing teams and visit the production site in CANTON. During our exchanges we were able to share our purchasing practices and strengthen our relationships. We are currently working on mutualising the purchase of certain raw materials, so that we can benefit from price reductions thanks to the quantities purchased by BECKERS.
China offers a wealth of opportunities and taking part in this type of event opens doors to many markets and allows us to highlight our brands.
We met many suppliers and prospects at the show. Creating a relationship with our Chinese contacts was so easy, thanks to the real exchange and not via teams/email.

The Wall 1 year, 3 months agoWe have been pleased to welcome in Le Mans site, the President of “Pays de la Loire” Region, Ms Christelle Morançais.
She has a very important political role, as she drives potential public accompaniment to companies development and support.
She can also be a facilitator with all local authorities. She came with her Vice President and economic advisors.
This was the 4th time she was visiting Colart in Le Mans, and she did another factory tour, allowing exchanges regarding the challenges the site is facing: Carbon Neutrality plan, research of efficiency, logistic organization.
She appreciated the constant evolution of the site, with the recent investment in new mixer and filling line.
She expressed her satisfaction to see such a world leading group so much present and investing in her territory.
This visit allows her, as well, to meet for the 1st time Romain as new CEO, and myself as new site Director.
She listened to Romain presentation of the Lindengruppen expectations and of Colart strategic directions.
No doubt it is key for Colart to enhance this relationship. It is scheduled to meet again by mid next year.
I would like to thank Thierry and Dominique who have managed to build a solid partnership with the local authorities and the Region over many years.

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
