The Wall 5 months agoHappy Halloween from everyone in the SNAZAROO team!🎃🧙♀️🧛👻🦇
We wanted to also share some of the photos taken from our fun face painting tournament yesterday that we had in the London hub.
We put people in teams of 2 and they had to paint a pumpkin on the other person (face, hand, arm). Each person had 1 1/2 minutes. The winners from each team then paired up and that continued until we had 1 final winner. That winner was Tara Badr and very well deserved, so congratulations again Tara!
Everyone involved gave it their all and I think a lot of fun was had throughout – we had some very interesting and also very professional looking pumpkin designs at the end of it!
Thank you to everyone for taking part and making it a really enjoyable afternoon and for Mara and the Wellbeing Team for arranging it.
We wish you and your families a very happy and spooktacular Halloween!🎃

The Wall 5 months agoAs part of the Coulheures D’Autonome festival in Antibes, artist Olivia de Bona, whom we support in numerous artistic projects, pays tribute to Matisse with a fresco painted with Flashe, and comments: “Echoing Fauvism, I sought to explore the emotions of colour through vivid touches of pure colour, using Lefranc Bourgeois Flashe. The scene is an interior-exterior contrast between the landscape and the window that frames it, a recurring theme in my work, as in Matisse’s. A special thought goes out to Marie and Clémence from Lefranc Bourgeois, who supported me in this project with Matisse’s colours! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to explore colour even further.”

I was just saying Sara, whilst we do not profess to be expert artists as it is clear to see (even after I have worked for Colart many years now) we had fun, laughter and joy. I probably hadn’t done painting/crafting together with Oscar since he was at elementary school…..…

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
