This color is incredible, and this artist is so kind and was so happy to visit Le Mans and create its own color.

We had a wonderful evening on Wednesday at Mount Street Restaurant in London celebrating the inaugural year of Winsor & Newton’s International Art Prize in partnership with Paul Smith’s Foundation.

The full gallery of photos from the event can be viewed here: https://jennifermoyesphotography.pixieset.com/paulsmithfoundationartprizedinner/

All of the winning artists were in attendance, as was Sir Paul himself, and they had enjoyed a private tour of his studios in the morning. Their artworks are now on display at Paul Smith stores in each of the chosen cities – London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Hong Kong. We also had the opportunity during their visit to hear them each speak so movingly about what had inspired their work.

The theme of the prize was ‘Finding Inspiration Everywhere’ which aligned perfectly with our brand positioning ‘Through the Eyes of the Artist’ and it was thrilling to see it so well received by the London art community.

Each guest at the dinner received a commemorative booklet featuring the winning artworks, as well as a Size 7, Series 7 brush (Queen Victoria’s favourite). Huge thanks to Sam and all the team at Crown for producing these just last week, especially for the occasion.

Thanks also to Romain and Gail for attending the dinner, to Ceylan and the International team for their support in activating it with our global partners, to Daniel, Charlotte and the whole digital and dev team for all their technical support, and to all of the Winsor & Newton team who have made it possible with their hard work over the year (especially Jo, Joe, Serena, Tom and Tom). Great team effort (and I really hope I haven’t forgotten anyone!)

Here’s to making it even bigger and better in 2025…

Spent the day in Brooklyn, NYC with Aaron Potts founder and creative visionary behind A. Potts fashion. The NA creative team Duane Romanell and Maria Gotfried were on site to interview Aaron and film content for ‘Through The Eyes of Artist’. Looking forward to sharing the stories with everyone soon!

    New Launches in Hobbycraft

Last week saw an important milestone in our partnership with Hobbycraft in the UK. For the past year teams all over the Colart business have been working tirelessly to launch Hobbycrafts new Private Label range, Shore & Marsh, this is a project that has worked at speed and exceeded expectations with the Hobbycraft team. It also opened the door to strategically implement Winsor & Newton Galeria 120ml onto their art wall.

This means we now supply 9 out of 13 bays on their artwall.

A massive thank you to all who supported on both of these ranges as the will undoubtedly support our growth targets for 2025.

📉 Email engagement expected to drop leading to November elections

    Hi everyone!

As we approach the U.S. elections on November 5th, insights are suggesting that marketers should prepare for a decline in email engagement due to the influx of political messages. This can cause inbox fatigue, where subscribers disengage with their emails completely and checking it less frequently, affecting all brand engagements.

    📊 Key Stats:

    • Open Rates: Decrease by 2-3% weekly starting six weeks prior.
    • Click-Through Rates: Drop by 25%+ in October.

Tips: Promote products for an angle of self-care, mindfulness, and creative expression to help our audience find calm amid the noise. Highlight art projects, journaling kits, or DIY kits that support mental wellness. Tips from artists, quick tutorials that are step by step and take the decision making progress and help with their mental load.

Of course these stats are for email only, but it\’s interesting to see how large events like these can have an impact on marketing activity 🙂
