The Wall 1 year, 5 months agoI organised a FREE ‘Demo’ evening @ Clark’s Crafts in Ramsbottom on Thursday 26th September and despite the monsoon type conditions, 32 budding artists attended the CWC demo by local artist Anthony Barrow.
All attendees received a ‘Goody’ bag with various W&N products and we had a free prize draw at the end of the evening.
There was special pricing on the evening promoting Cotman H/P’s, 8ml & 21ml.
Over £500 was taken over the till on the evening, which was an excellent result.
I also received excellent feed back from several of the attendees who thoroughly enjoyed the event.
Clark’s were so pleased with the ‘Demo’ that they have booked Anthony for a 6 week course and this has filled already. He is very influential in the area and a very good advocate of W&N products so we can expect healthy sales increases when the course commences next month.

The Wall 1 year, 5 months agoThis week, we were pleased to welcome Barbara Weyant, ACMI Executive Director, to Colart’s London hub. On her way to the ICPHSO 2024 International Symposium in Brussels, Barb made time to visit us, meet the Regulatory team, catch up with CSIO Sara, and be introduced to CEO Romain. We had productive discussions on the ACMI certification program, shared feedback on process improvements, and explored new ways ACMI can bring even more value to its members, including Colart.
ACMI is the U.S. trade association that grants the ‘AP’ or ‘CL’ seals, ensuring compliance and safety for art materials in the U.S. market. Learn more at http://www.acmiart.org

That looks brilliant. Having played an early version of the game with my kids it was great to see them loving to “get painting” and under some time pressure – lots of excitement!!

Millions of tonnes of clothing, shoes and other textiles end up in landfill every year because very little is sent for recycling .
“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration. “This system puts pressure on valuable resources such as water, pollutes the environment and degrades ecosystems in addition to creating societal impacts on a global scale.” There are good reasons to seek out alternatives to chucking clothes in the bin – globally the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with textile production alone is estimated to release 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year. Vast amounts of water are also needed to produce the clothes we wear too and the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global waste water. At the same time we are buying more clothes than ever – the average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than they did 15 years ago. More than two tonnes of clothing are bought each minute in the UK, more than any other country in Europe. Globally, around 56 million tonnes of clothing are bought each year, and this is expected to rise to 93 million tonnes by 2030 and 160 million tonnes by 2050.
"Reuse. Recycle. Rethink — your clothes deserve a second life, not a landfill."
