Email Security Changes

October 2, 2020 | | | 1 comment

Over the course of the last 6 months, we have seen an increasing problem with targeted phishing attacks and marketing campaigns that in some cases have compromised our networks and data.

As part of the work to strengthen our security for our network and infrastructure, over the last few weeks alongside moving our antivirus and web filtering platforms we have moved our email filtering system to Cisco Email Security (CES).

What this will mean for our users is that you will (in certain cases) see tags to emails such as [Marketing] or [Bulk] which should only be applied to mailshots and mail that is categorised as such, alongside seeing a reduction in spam and targeted attacks. You may also see emails from Colart News and other global communication be tagged with [EXTERNAL/MARKETING]. This will be temporary whilst we refine back end changes.

As this is a new system there may be in certain cases emails that are not categorised correctly or quarantined unnecessarily. If you experience any issues, please contact Tech Support who will be more than happy to help.

Head of Global Infrastructure
