Long Range Plan Cascade – Pulse Survey Results
The long-range plan (LRP) is how we will achieve our vision. This is where all the thinking starts so it’s important that you both understand our plan and feel part of it.
The idea behind the survey was to find out how well we communicated the LRP to you and whether you thought this cascade was worth doing. The results below are a global summary of what you told us and later we will conduct local workshops to explore the results.
Background
- The survey was undertaken following the completion of the LRP cascade.
- Just under 70% of people across the group took part
- Results delayed to include the French results
- Four main questions asked linked to:
- Understanding of LRP
- Information received
- The preferred method for receiving information
- View of Colart as a result of the LRP
- Results collected in English, French and Chinese
- Results combined for group results
My understanding of the Long-range plan
Results show that approximately 80% of people responding to the survey agreed that the LRP cascade was not only a valuable exercise but also helped to improve business understanding and individual impact.
These results were roughly consistent across the whole group with only North America seeing a higher percentage “slightly agreeing” and above.

Information I received from my manager
The CEO video and Colart Passport were clearly the most widely shared form of communication with over 75% of respondents listing them in their response.
Of the 4% of people who received no information from their manager, 50% of them responded negatively to questions related to understanding the LRP. No one in International, Minehead or Lowestoft appeared in this group.

Ranking of a preferred method for receiving information
Whilst the powerpoint presentation stands out as the preferred tool, no method was a clear favourite.
Interestingly about 80% of people ranked the interactive sessions (team and business unit meetings) lowest.
As it was a ranking activity, this does not mean they were not valued but there is a clear need to understand how these interactive sessions can be enhanced.

Net promoter score
Total Group at +5.3
Good to see the progress sustained since the last NPS assessment when we moved into the positive for the first time (+4).
Stand out business units are:-
- International at +100
- Minehead at +88
- Northern Europe at +67
- UK (Kidderminster) at +28
China remains the only BU with a negative NPS though the score is 10 points better than the previous year.
