The What

Today we buy recycled paper to wedge our product in carton boxes, it costs to Colart and it also costs to the environnment as recycling carton is demanding lots of ressources. Why not directly transforming boxes (in which we receive products, raw material, etc...) that we usually throw away (to be recycled) into cardboard wedging. It requires a small investment to get the tool, but then you save the costs of paper wedge and of the waste treatment, and you give a second life to carton boxes before it goes to recycling. this would probably help us to get better on our carbon print and probably also to save money.

The Why

The project is in line with the objectif carbon neutral 2030. It also reduce number of consummable we buy and we stock, and so our expenses.

The How

Invest in a tool to transform the carton boxes.

  1. I think this is a great idea Elodie!

When I visited Le Mans last time (November 2021) I was really surprised by the high volume of cardboard that gets discarded. This would be a good initiative to at least give it a second life before it goes into recycling. Looking forward to investigate!

  2. Elodie, i will get back to you on the way to manage this idea. When we investigated this option 6 years ago, it had not been approved for different reasons (dust being one), but the progress on technologies and the expanding offer and new suppliers will be the good opportunity to challenge this option once again.
