I love to make all things crafty! I sew, embroider, cut vinyl, engraving, glass etching, crochet and more recently I starting sublimation printing.
With the ability to make all of these things I was quickly running out of family and friends to make things for (plus my husband wasn’t too pleased with me purchasing endless craft supplies ๐ ) so he suggested I started to sell some!
Surprisingly it is going very well. Over Christmas I was very busy making gifts from orders I took at local craft fairs. I then went on to set up some basic social media pages to spread the word and created a website, now I sell my products online and at my local market once a month where I print while people wait. I have also been busy making branded items for local businesses. It’s certainly keeping me busy in the evenings!
It has also turned into a family activity. My husband and two daughters come along to the market, the girls have the chance to earn themselves some extra pocket money and they love it! ~ I’m not too sure about the husband, but as long as I keep giving him food and a coffee now and then, he seems happy enough lol.
I find the hardest bit is keeping the website up to date with all of the new products, oh and remembering to post on social media!!!ย ย
Thanks for reading.ย
Wow, Lucy! How amazing to take a hobby into a successful local initiative in addition to getting your family involved is wonderful ๐
Well done!
I had no idea Lucy – this is amazing! Your website and products on offer are brilliant.
Wow Lucy, congratulations to have transformed this leisure into a real activity, including a web site. It’s so exciting to create, share, and finally sell.
I started off with 4 coasters and now have a collection of 16 plus mugs, paperweights etc… All great quality. Lovely gifts for family and friends.
Oh wow this is amazing Lucy, I know how much hard work goes into the shows and promoting, it all looks fantastic.
