The What

A consumer asked if we offered blank color charts that could be filled in as they added colors to their collection. She was looking specifically for a chart she could fill in with Liquitex acrylic inks, but this could also be used for other color ranges or even mediums.

The Why

We constantly get requests for color charts in Consumer Care. These are expensive but essential to the artists we serve. Offering a blank color chart that they can fill in provides a low cost alternative to the hand painted charts and may encourage consumers to add more colors to their inventory.

The How

We are already working on creating some hand painted color charts, a long and labor intensive process. We may have the blank ones now.
They could be sent to our retailers and picked up by consumers like a brochure.

Comments

  1. good thinking Ann and useful translation from a consumer request to a potential product/service for us to deliver. I am sure there would be more artists out there who would want to have these blank color charts as a tool to collect them all ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi Ros,

Currently our plan is to supply a small number of the blank color charts for Liquitex that Lowestoft is working on to the Consumer Care team to try and gauge the level of interest.
In the past, the color chart would have been made from card stock and the actual hand painted colors would be applied to watercolor paper, which would then be cut and glued to the blank squares. I’m not certain how these charts will be done, but it’s a good question and I will put it to the Liquitex brand team.
