ISO9001 and ISO14001 Certifications Renewed in Le Mans
ISO, or the International Organization for Standardization, is a global organisation that provides internationally recognised standards for quality management, environmental management, safety, energy, and sustainability. These standards are created by experts and represent the distilled wisdom of people with expertise in their respective fields. ISO standards can be thought of as a formula that describes the best way of doing something, whether it's making a product, managing a process, delivering a service, or supplying materials.
Obtaining ISO certification is an essential step towards communicating to customers and other interested parties that we have implemented the right management systems. The certification process involves audits from accredited organisations that check that a company's processes meet ISO standards and requirements.
Recently, the British Standards Institution (BSI) audited our Le Mans site for ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification renewal. During the four-day audit, 85% of our processes were examined. The results were impressive: three strong points and four opportunities for improvement were identified, but no non-conformities were found.
Obtaining ISO certification is an ongoing process, and we must be re-certified every year at every site. The certification process is critical to ensuring we are continuously improving and meeting ISO standards and requirements. It involves audits of a site's processes and everyone on the site, from pilots of processes to any employee, may be involved in the certification process.
Companies like Colart that prioritise ISO certification will undoubtedly see benefits in improved efficiency, reduced product failures, and increased sustainability.
The certification process at Le Mans has been a collaboration of teams, and success is not because of one individual or team. However, it is achieved by everyone.
