UK & International Finance Organisation Announcement
Earlier this month, the departure of Felicity Hullah was announced, resulting in the vacancy of the role of Commercial Finance Business Partner for International. The Finance Leadership Team took this opportunity to assess our existing talent pool, and I am pleased to confirm that James Whelan has been appointed to the role with immediate effect, ensuring a smooth handover and transition.
James joined the finance team in October 2021 as a Financial Accountant and quickly became a valuable member of the team. He has maintained the strong controls that were already in place while also improving several reporting processes for the business unit. Due to his dedication and eagerness to take on new responsibilities, he was promoted to Senior Financial Accountant and also assumed the finance brand support for Snazaroo.
In his new position as Commercial Finance Business Partner, James will continue to support the Snazaroo brand, maintaining close ties with the UK team. This role will enable him to deepen his understanding of our business and further his professional development within Colart.
James expresses his thoughts on this new challenge, stating,
"I am eager to continue my journey at Colart and bring everything I have learned over the past two years with the UK and Snazaroo teams to the International division.
After my recent visit to Le Mans and meeting the team, I am excited to assume the role and continue to grow."
In his new capacity, James will continue reporting to me.
As a result of these changes, the UK Financial Accountant position became available. Following interviews with internal candidates from our talent pool, I am pleased to announce that Veronika Urminska has been successful in applying for this role and will start in full capacity on August 1, 2023. Veronika joined Colart in February 2022 as the Assistant Financial Accountant for Elephant, where she provided support with bookkeeping tasks and helped establish various financial reporting processes. After the closure of this business unit, she took on a similar role in the Northern European (now part of Mainland Europe) business unit.
Veronika shares her thoughts on joining the UK team, stating,
"First of all, I am grateful for all the development opportunities I have had at Colart so far.
Joining the Colart UK team is an excellent next step for me, where I can fully understand the intricacies of the Financial Accountant role and work closely with colleagues from other departments.
I look forward to meeting our Kidderminster team."
Furthermore, I have reviewed Rakeem Herman's progress and appointed him Assistant Financial Accountant, acknowledging his professional growth over the past twelve months.
