Group Marketing Organisation Update
Late last year the Digital Strategy team integrated into Shopper Marketing. The result provides a unified team connecting internal stakeholders and external customers and consumers, delivering across all shopper influence points. We detail the recently formed Group Marketing team purpose and structure below.
Our Organisation
Our Functions
Our purpose is to understand our shoppers and consumers as deeply as possible and to nudge them towards buying our products.
We are the central marketing support for our key stakeholders of global brands and business units. Our four core functions include:
- Insights
- Retail Experience
- Retail Activation
- Digital Strategy
Insights
Consumer and Retailer insights with our data sources being ad hoc projects (e.g. NPD evaluations, strategic positioning etc.), regular trackers (Brand Preference), continuous data (EPOS and Aragog, our pricing tool) and global projects such as State of the Nation. We also leverage this data for Category Management and how our brands all work together.
Retail Experience
This is formed from 3 parts, i) Packaging artwork which focuses on regs changes and packaging changes but not wholesale packaging design work ii) Retail Experience events from small scale store based such as Great Art at Christmas to larger scale national ones such as Chelsea Flower Show iii) Shopper communication in store through point of sale.
Retail Activation
This area focusses on delivering in-store displays and includes design, Project Management and Procurement and is responsible for our current displays across the world and any new designs. A key focus is to ensure we optimise our spend in merchandising through carful price monitoring and value engineering as merchandising is Colart’s single biggest spend on Advertising and Promotions.
Group Digital Marketing
This area focusses on Paid Media, Search Engine Optimisation, social media and lifecycle marketing as well as providing best practice guidance on objective setting, KPI management and the strategies and tactics to achieve these. We work across all brands and are responsible for acquiring new consumers and nurturing them in to brand loyalists.
