  1. Thank you Romain and Jane for taking the time to have, film and share this discussion as it really does shed some light and clarity on the state of the business currently and what will be happening in the months to come. I feel that I’ve gathered good knowledge and information from your talk that I didn’t have visibility on prior. Also great to, for the first time, hear about about the ‘Consumer First’ and ‘Operations Excellence’ focuses and looking forward to hearing what others are going to form part of the new/revised strategy. I also particularly liked that you highlighted that the business and teams will be provided with guidance on how to move from strategy to action and be empowered to make decision with more agility and confidence. Looking forward to the business wide cascade on the new strategies to come following the GLT/ELT meeting in September.

    • Hi Francheska. Thanks for your feedback and good to hear that this little chat with Jane was usefull. Looking forward to getting more into details and action with all of you in a couple of months. Have a great summer !

  2. Hi Jane and Romain,

This is really great and very helpful.

I would encourage everyone to tune in and watch / listen as it will hopefully help provide assurance that there is strong confidence in the business and that our future path is one that is guided by ensuring a “consumer first” and “operational excellence” approach.

The UK being a key part of Colart, we recognise that the role we play, how we align behind our new focus and direction, will be important to the wider Colart in achieving our market leader ambitions.

I look forward to contributing to the Le Mans workshops in September, the business cascade and strategy into action.

    Best, Anthony

  3. Jane, Romain – thank you for sharing this conversation. It’s energising to hear the company direction and strategic priorities including ‘consumer-first’, ‘operational excellence’, and ‘increased agility’. Tactical execution and maximising the pool of talent we already have within the business will indeed be paramount to bring the strategy to fruition. Exciting times ahead!

  4. Thanks for sharing, I found this reassuring. I’m really not a risk taker but in the spirit of the discussion here; Can we take a risk (and reduce complexity) by aggressively reducing our product portfolio? I understand we have a large variety of product conventions for different markets – what if we revolutionised this and created a more unilateral convention for all markets? Labelling regulations aside, what’s the risk of standardising? I also believe an artist only really needs five colours (3 primaries + light and shade), appreciate this is an extreme view but should we be simplifying production and focussing our ranges into very targeted demographic/shelf spaces (aligned to the brands)? Can we do a few things exceptionally well rather than trying to accommodate every assumed consumer need? Maybe the revolution is to shrink rather than grow? Maybe no new ideas here, but are we taking any risks in trying to drive the market differently?

  5. Hi Romain and Jane, I’m very happy to see such a good conversation, which really helped me solve the problem I’ve been worried about for a while. Since I joined Colart in April 2022, I have been trying to use Agile (Scrum) to help clients (internally) and teams be more productive to achieve their goals. Although Agile may not have been successful at Colart, based on my experience in the past 20 years, I still believe that Agile is the best weapon for modern businesses to face the challenges of the new era. Hopefully, under the leadership of Romain and GLT in the future, we will become more agile and aggressive to achieve our 2030 goals.
In fact, in China, there have been many cases of companies using private domain and DTC to grow in recent years. I personally believe that from the perspective of product characteristics, our product characteristics are also very in line with the requirements of private domain and DTC. How can non-GLT and ELT employees participate in these discussions and contribute?
