Liquitex recently wrapped up their latest Just Imagine Residency at Manufacturer’s Village in East Orange, NJ with artist Eileen Ferara.
During her residency, Eileen delved into her connection with the environment, using a diverse range of media to express her insights. She is captivated by the resilience of nature, often finding beauty in unexpected places: weeds emerging through asphalt, plants reclaiming abandoned railways, and the transformative interaction between natural growth and human infrastructure.
“I’m expanding my painting vocabulary while making work reflecting on bodies of water, things that live in them and around them, and exploring different surfaces.” Eileen explains.
Central to Eileen's artistic journey was her use of found and collected objects during her walks, incorporating both man-made and organic elements into her visual narratives.
Throughout her residency Eileen’s go-to products were Professional Matte Medium and the Freestyle palette knives.
Eileen also road tested the Bio-Based Heavy Acrylics range, and her feedback will play a key role in the Bio-Based campaign launching mid-September.
