Highlights from the 35th International Festival of Comics and Games in Łódź
Already on to the next trade fair, Irek Harmak from the European Commerical team looks back on the recent 35th International Festival of Comics and Games, held in Łódź.
This annual event, a staple at the turn of September and October, took place a tad earlier this year on September 14-15, drawing nearly 20,000 fans of comics, cosplay, and games.
The festival boasted an impressive international roster of artists, including:
- Greg Rucka, the American screenwriter known for series like 'Gotham Central', 'Wonder Woman', and 'Lazarus'.
- Filipe Andrade, a Portuguese illustrator who collaborates with top international artists.
- Marc Torices, creator of ‘The Happy Life of the Sad Dog Cornelius’.
- Jakub Rebelka and French scriptwriter Romuald Giulivo, authors of ‘The Last Day of H.P. Lovecraft’.
- Tony Sandoval from Timof Comics, a Mexican artist with a distinctive style.
- Erik Svetoft, whose work ‘SPA’ won Sweden's best book design award in 2021.
These renowned artists, alongside numerous others from Poland and beyond, had the chance to explore and use Winsor-Newton and Snazaroo products. The festival also featured various workshops and demonstrations led by collaborating artists, showcasing their use of markers, crayons, pencils, and inks.
